That's a matter of semantics, you made the claim on this forum. A 2 minute check would've avoided this misinformation being repeated. But anyway all good, thanks for acknowledging that the information was indeed incorrect. I know it probably won't mean much to you but I respect that.

That's gentlemanly of you and no I'm not being sarcastic.

Very first tweets I saw this morning were as below. I don't think 'celebrities' read replies to their tweets, misapprehensions might be corrected if they did.

There are several more Musk comments in similar vein including a meme showing Musk going to war. Picking an unnecessary fight with Apple does not seem like the move of a genius.

I wonder if it's possible for him to run out of bridges to burn and people to offend.

This is alleged to be a list of companies that have reduced or ceased advertising on Twitter. There are some BIG names in that list.

Interesting to see Diageo mentioned. They are not a favourite of mine and generally I will not buy anything from a brand they own. At last count they owned 29 different Scotch whisky distilleries producing about 100 different brands including Johnnie Walker. If a distillery needs updating they tend to install a computerised industrial process and get rid of as many staff as possible. That can lead to problems as with Lagavulin 16, a very popular whisky, which had problems with inconsistent batches after they'd updated the plant. Apart from my political objections, I'm not interested in paying $160 for a bottle of whisky on the basis of a 50/50 chance it might be OK. Actually I'm not normally interested in paying $160.00 anyway.

Hey! Not many of us left these days, I would have thought, pick on someone your own size!

Don't lump us in with the iOS crowd.

Watching TV I get the impression that almost everybody uses Apple. Or should I say 'everybody else'?

If Musk pisses Apple off enough they could drop Twitter from the App Store and that would probably kill it off. He should avoid a legal squabble with Apple they have reportedly got a huge fighting fund stashed away.

The only place they have any claim to dominance really is the Smart phone market - but even then, they are pretty much tied with Samsung (it's fractions of a percent between the two companies).

It would be a good marketing ploy from Google to point out they have Twitter...

    Not just Apple..
Musk has made his own shots at Apple and Google, criticising the “duopoly” last week.

“App store fees are obviously too high due to the iOS/Android duopoly,” he said.

“It is a hidden 30 per cent tax on the internet.”
Musk told Wheeler that he would build his own phone if Twitter got banned from Apple and Google’s app stores, the official gateways to iPhone and Android devices across the globe.
“I certainly hope it does not come to that, but, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone,” Musk tweeted.

Both Apple and Google have policies that ban apps in its stores from containing hate or discriminatory speech, bullying, harassment, and sexually explicit content. In the aftermath of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, Apple and Google kicked Parler off their app stores for its role in helping rioters plan the event, although it was allowed back after making changes. Kanye West, who legally changed his name to Ye, is reportedly in talks to buy Parler.

Former Twitter head of trust and safety, Yoel Roth, said that the social media giant risks being expelled from Apple and Google's app stores if they fail to adhere to guidelines.

Speaking to the New York Times, Mr Roth said, "Failure to adhere to Apple's and Google's guidelines would be catastrophic, risking Twitter's expulsion from their app stores and making it more difficult for billions of potential users to get Twitter's services. This gives Apple and Google enormous power to shape the decisions Twitter makes."
this is an odd thing to do if a few months ago
Google announced that its cloud unit has won a deal to supply computing and networking resources to Elon Musk’s SpaceX to help deliver internet service through the latter’s Starlink satellites.
The Starlink satellite internet will rely on Google’s private fiber-optic network to quickly make connections to cloud services as part of a deal that could last seven years
    unless

However, industry insiders expect the company to launch its first smartphone late next year or in early 2024.
which translates to about 5 human years i guess
I say this as the tesla semi is at least 5 years overdue.

On the Semi musk said that the windshield would be "explosion-proof."
remember the bullet proof cyber truck screen
That cyber truck is currenty 2 years at least late

Trump has yet another problem. The Inspector General of the IRS is investigating whether he instructed the IRS to audit James Comey and Andrew McCabe both former heads of the FBI. (He apparently did, and General John Kelly his former Chief of Staff says he has proof.) There is a specific law against a president either ordering the IRS to start an audit or to stop one. Penalty up to five years in the big house.

In more bad news for Trump some of the "tourists" and "peaceful demonstrators" have been found guilty of seditious conspiracy. Conspiring to overthrow the government. Those convicted could face serious time, up to sixty years? And there are more to come as the government works their way up a long list.

Seditious conspiracy is apparently a difficult charge to make stick. The guilty verdicts in this case do make it slightly easier to nail the accused in the following cases.

Next up the Proud Boys? "Stand back and stand by."
