In case anyone is wondering this chart shows Trump's current court actions. It does seem rather a lot for a guy who made perfect phone calls and has done nothing wrong.
It does show some interesting things. I didn't know the FBI's most successful spy catcher was suing Trump. Nor that the DoJ had multiple actions.

An absolutely necessary move from the judge in this case.

A case for using RICO againast trump
First, there was an allegedly criminal effort to win the presidency, including through a foreign-influence campaign.
Second, there was the allegedly criminal effort to keep the presidency, which included obstructing the Mueller investigation, suppressing disclosure of the Stormy Daniels payment, obstructing the disclosure of Trump’s taxes and obstructing the impeachment investigations.
Third, there was the allegedly criminal effort to monetize the presidency, including by using Trump’s hotels and golf clubs in ways that may constitute corruption.
Fourth, there was the allegedly criminal effort to extend the presidency and block a peaceful transition of power through the Jan. 6 insurrection and the obstruction of Congress’ certification of the vote.
Fifth, there was the allegedly criminal effort to protect Trump’s future political prospects by obstructing the House’s Jan. 6 commission.
Sixth, and finally, there was the allegedly criminal effort to conceal state secrets at Mar-a-Lago.
Based on the evidence presented so far by the Jan. 6 committee, which is focused only on the insurrection, I personally believe the evidence could support a RICO prosecution comprised of a hub, with Trump, Roger Stone, Michael Flynn and other members of his inner circle at the center, and 10 different spokes of criminal activities that accumulate to a common goal.

PENALTIES UNDER THE RICO ACT
A conviction under RICO has serious consequences. Not only does the RICO statute provide for criminal penalties including 20 years of prison, but the financial penalties are severe. A person convicted can face a fine of either $250,000 or double the amount of proceeds earned from illicit activity. The prison time can increase to up to a life sentence depending on the underlying crime that was committed.
In the establishment of RICO, there was the fear that assets associated with the enterprise would disappear before a final judgment was issued. RICO rules of procedure allow the government to freeze the assets of the defendant prior to the case even going to trial. The reasoning behind this was that making the government wait until a guilty verdict was entered would allow time for these assets to be well hidden.
In the event of a conviction, forfeiture of the defendant’s entire interest in the enterprise is handed over to the government. Because of the loss of these assets, the enterprise can suffer irreparable harm and even dismantlement.
Prior to RICO, evidence or verdicts from previous criminal or civil litigation were simply not allowed to be presented for a jury’s consideration.
RICO changed all that and made it possible for testimony and evidence to be introduced to the court in order to show a pattern of organized or intentional illegal behavior or practices. Prosecutors are now able to present previous charges and verdict outcomes, even if the defendant had been acquitted of previous criminal charges. RICO disallows defense attorneys to shelter their client’s previous criminal or civil litigation history from the eyes of the court. This is especially true if the defendant’s criminal and civil litigation can prove that the defendant not only engaged in illegal acts, but that those acts formed a pattern.

Oh Nose......
Judge rules Pence must testify in Jan. 6 attack probe.
WASHINGTON, March 28 (Reuters) - A federal judge has ruled that former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence must testify to a grand jury about conversations he had with former President Donald Trump leading up to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, a source familiar with the ruling said on Tuesday.
The source, confirming reports by CNN and NBC, said the judge's decision compels Trump's former vice president, and potential challenger for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, to appear before the federal grand jury but shields him from testifying about Jan. 6, 2021, itself.
In February, a source told Reuters Pence was preparing to resist a grand jury subpoena to secure his testimony.
Ahead of the Jan. 6 events, Trump had repeatedly lambasted Pence, publicly and privately, for refusing to try to prevent Congress from certifying Biden’s win in the 2020 election, sources told Reuters at the time.

I feel a bit for Pennypence.
He was the total Trumpi suck up and then he was abused by the chosen one "weak Mike Pence" and now he is the poor sod who has to face the legal eagles.
Manhattan DA lawyers feared Stormy Daniels case against Trump was too weak to bring without other criminal charges, report says
"Experts say the case is far from a slam-dunk". Oh no. Really? Again, and again, and again, I guess "the convoluted nature of the anticipated charges could give "reasonable doubt" to jurors hearing the case, according to Bederow." wouldn't be that hard to prove "reasonable doubt". Will it be yet more pain for the TDS crowd or will they hang on a little longer for the pound of flesh they think they so richly deserve... who knows, it seems almost as if anything can happen in the next half hour... or at least the next month after the hiatus of the jury. Such a familiar pattern, it's almost as if......... nah.
