Interesting comment by a US lawyer. Asked about the copious notes taken by several of Trump's lawyers, all of which are now in the possession of the Justice Department. He said that normally lawyers do not document everything in great detail, but if they suspect that a client may lie about the case in future they will write down everything to cover their arse.

Probably wise of them considering the history of their client.

Interesting news from CNN: CEO Chris Licht has been fired. The new owner of CNN David Zaslav, had appointed Licht to take CNN to the right in an attempt to take viewers from FOX. That didn't work, it just pissed off their existing viewers who moved to MSNBC.

There was the farcial Trump "town hall" which alientated most of the CNN staff and a large chunk of the population. Apart from the town hall viewer numbers have continued to slide. CNN now ranks outside the top 3 cable channels.

Be interesting to see who replaces Licht and if there's a change in the current failed policy.

Trump has announced on Troth Senshal that he has been summoned to appear at the Miami Courthouse at 3.00PM Tuesday Florida time. I have a bottle of Veuve Clicq that will go in the fridge to be ready.

It has been reported that he will be charged with espionage and obstruction among other things but the actual clauses used don't refer to classified documents. Apparently the charge relates to passing military information to unauthorised persons. So we shouldn't have to read a lot of crap about how he can declassify documents with his mind ninja style.

Update: There is some concern that should Trump be reelected president he would pardon himself. There is also concern that is found guilty he could even run from prison and normally there's nothing preventing that. Some sections of the espionage act though contain the stipulation that anybody found guilty is banned from running for any public office. I think Jack Smith will have noticed that.
