Well, this undoes the precedent set for a certain presidential candidate.
Can't wait for Trump's legal team to point to the precedent set in the Comey report.
Either they have to abide by that precedent and drop all charges, or they prove that the whole FBI is now just an extension of the Democrat party.
Although it the former would be the better outcome, the latter will certainly be more interesting.

I am not sure whataboutism is a real form of legal defence, but as that poster previously claimed to know more than federal and supreme court judges and the FBI. I am sure he will be called upon to be an trump expert witless.
Whataboutism refers to the practice of deflecting criticism by pointing to the misdeeds of others. Oxford Dictionaries defines it as “the technique or practice of responding to an accusation or difficult question by making a counter-accusation or raising a different issue.”
History tells us that this method of counteracting arguments was first manifested in the Cold War (Soviet Union) — a tool for battling criticism with the cynicism, of sorts. Later on, it was popularised again by the beloved Donald Trump and lately has been spreading like the ‘potentially’ airborne COVID-19.

Countless allegation of unnamed sources, charges to be laid, charges laid and nothing of real substance (in regard to the seriousness of claims) has actually materialised into a courtroom verdict and sentence…

True.
The wheels of justice turn slow.
The Trump Organisation was already facing multiple charges. The Chief Financial Officer was jailed.
Trump was sued by E Jean Caroll for sexual abuse and defamation, found liable and ordered to pay five million. The next day he repeated the defamation on TV and is now facing another ten million. (Nobody said he was quick on the uptake.)
On Wednesday Trump is to be charged with 37 (or 38?) charges any one of which would have anybody else in prison already.
A Georgia DA has asked all law enforcement agencies to cancel all leave for dates in late July or early August and has requested the Court schedule be cleared for the same dates. It is believed that this is in relation to Trump being charged with attempted election fraud. "I just need 11,780 votes." Although political interference on behalf of Trump is still possible in this instance.
There is still the matter of his attempted coup. The sentences dished out in related cases have been getting longer. Eighteen years the longest to date I believe. So far no politicians have been charged but there is still a grand jury in Washington DC that we haven't heard from yet. There may also be ongoing investigations that have not been made public.

The coup thing will be hard to prove. Some dictionary definitions;
an unexpectedly successful achievement
a sudden illegal, often violent, taking of government power, especially by part of an army
The cruder method of fomenting military coups had been replaced by financing and training civilian opponents, but the aim was still the same.
a sudden decisive exercise of force in politics and especially the violent overthrow or alteration of an existing government by a small group
a brilliant, sudden, and usually highly successful stroke or act
So back in the January 6 circus, there was nothing successful, there was no “army”, and no govt was overthrown. Ultimately a bunch of over excited leaderless rabble caused some damage and distress the same way the lefty antifa group does.
If trump is guilty of a coup then by same logic you have to jail Green Party members or Greta thunberg for any disruptive action that extinction rebellion, just stop oil or any of the other kooky green groups.
Is any leader of black community responsible for the “ mostly peaceful” riots and arson during BLM protests??

You could consult the dictionary, not a bad thing, but you have to look up the correct term. Coup is short for Coup d'etat. (Excuse the lack of the accent thingie over the e.)
Or you could see what the experts have to say. The people who deal with such things say it was a coup. Specifically a type described as a "self coup."
That's when somone who attains power legally subsequently tries to retain power illegaly. Which sums up Jan 6th and Trump's other failed plans nicely.
There was also a plan to declare martial law. Although it seems neither Trump nor any of his shithead co conspirators could even spell that.
There was the attempt to kidnap the Vice President - foiled when he smelled a rat and refused to get in the car.
There were the fake electors.
There were the "11,780 votes".
There is a ton of stuff to work through and a number of sitting politicians were involved. All of whom should be banned from holding any future public office but...

This whole docs case is so simple.
Pence - "Opps I found documents I should not still have, here FBI come and get them please." Consequent investigation by the authorities cleared pence. (he is still a total fuckknuckle)
Biden"Opps I found documents I should not still have, here FBI come and get them please." Consequent investigation by the authorities have not been copmpleted. I'm more than happy for Biden to face charges if misdeeds are found.
Trump - "Yes, I have documents, I'm not going to return them despite being requested multiple times to do so. Think I'll actively hide some and show others to people in order to be a show off as well." As ever, trump is the author of his own demise.
The whartabouters are laughable.
I'm still looking for the Georgia charges the most.
There's a coupla things about Biden and Pence having classified docs at home. Cabinet members have a huge amount of reading to do so it seems they routinely take paperwork home that would get almost anybody else fired or imprisoned.
The second thing is that when they finally leave office, they don't get down on their hands and knees and pack the boxes personally. Staff do that for them.
Neither instance comes close to Trump removing a truck load of documents to which he was not entitled and he knew it.
Then there was Reality Winner. She was an intelligence analyst who released one document confirming Russian interference in the 2016 election. She was locked up while the case was investigated and then sentenced to five years.
