Reading the indictment is interesting. It doesn't leave Trump many defence options. It seems the most likely defence will be "Eastman made me do it."
Republicans complain the whole thing is a Democrat stitch up. The evidence though is all from Republicans some of whom adhered to their oath of office rather than Trump's requests.
For me the most impressive quote is from a Republican operative who was complaining about a lack of evidence for Trump's claims. All he had was, "conspiracy shit beamed down from the motor ship."
Co conspirator 1 is Rudy Giuliani
Co conspirator 2 is Eastman who devised the whole plan re fake electors and Pence not certifying the votes.
3 is Sydney Powell the crazy woman
4 is Jeffrey Clark an environmental lawyer or similar appointed by Trump as Acting Attorney General.
5 is Chesebro
6 is uncertain but possibly Epshtyn
OK it's 45 pages but most is double spaced.

Interesting. At his most recent hearing the judge gave Trump detailed rules about communicating or attempting to communicate with witnesses. He was warned a breach would result in his being locked up. There are some 86 witnesses in this latest case apparently.
Trump was warned specifically not to communicate, attempt to intimidate, influence, threaten, bribe, or retaliate against any witness. After due consideration Trump has responded by posting the following message on his Troth Senshul. All caps...
"IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I'M COMING AFTER YOU!"
Whether or not that resembles an attempt to influence, intimidate, or is a threat to retaliate, is up to the judge. It's way past time somebody gave Trump a serious slap.

You would be forgiven for watching this and thinking it might be all over for Trump.
he seems to just slip slide around in the bottom of the bowl.

For sure Laava, though my gut tells me he is finally, finally shit out of luck.
I do wonder if he will still be alive once the court cases are all said and done. He could well slip out the back door of death and avoid the prison time considering the US Justice system makes a glacier look pretty racy.
I thought this was interesting below. Meatball Desantis would also tick all those boxes to be in the fascist club. the GOP could not survive by pushing it's brand of conservatism, so say hellllooooo to fascism to smash and grab their way to power and cling desperately to it no matter the cost. Those that paint themselves as poster boys for conservatism will be in massive denial about this - but for all intents and purposes, the conservative movement in the USA is deader than a dead thing. As in...like.....dead.
Jack Smith is pulling the chain. The flushing of Trump is imminent.
It will still take a long time to clean up the GOP, MAGA, SCOTUS and all other the toxic politics, racism, authoritarianism, fear, lies, corruption etc. that Trump's reign encouraged and let out of the box.
The prosecution has requested a Jan 2nd 2024 start for the trial.
Happy New Year Trump
Oh, and yeah, Trump the crook sure likes hiring other crooks.
Bad sportsmanship at best, but nothing surprising here? Trump getting ready to toss his toys again…

What has become of our resident trump apologist and constitutional expert? Would like an "informed" opinion on this:
Fourteenth Amendment Equal Protection and Other Rights
Section 3 Disqualification from Holding Office
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.
(PostalDave on ADVrider)
Not an informed opinion from me...But, it seems that the Disqualification is AUTOMATIC! Congress may only remove the disqualification (disability) with a 2/3 majority, in each house!
Trump has certainly "given comfort" to persons convicted of seditious conspiracy including collaborating in a song with convicted felons and promising them pardons.
Unfortunately the dodgy SCOTUS can probably rule that a seditious conspiracy is not an 'actual' insurrection...but it definitely was a rebellion!.
Need some top US constitutional experts to see if this has wings!
The federalists might help. Noted this elsewhere today: http://www.internationalskeptics.com...&postcount=430
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
@Pritch, You were concerned that the gop traitors would be able to get Georgia DA and her cases dismissed. Well they struck out in spectacular form! 9 - NINE! republican appointed supreme court judges swatted it down. So the trump[ lawyers tried one last avenue and that got swatted down too.
Trump and a bunch of republican fake electors are going down for treason![]()
Another opinion on Trump and the 14th Amendment, by a couple of Republican lawyers.
Short story...He did it and it applies and just takes an Govt official to apply it.
Longer Story.....Political Dynamite!
Upshot! .....the Trump problem is very hard to solve through the law alone.

M.a.g.a. ...
Thanks for that. I do see Mr Popok but had missed that one and was wondering what was happening with the Georgia politicians. That cheered me up. There could be an indictment this week, said he hopefully.
The comments by the two law professors about Trump being disqualified under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment were interesting but it seems like a long shot.
They are members of the Federalist Society though and that has a lot of pull. I did once hear an interview with a lawyer who said that some of her colleagues who were not notably right wing had joined the society as it could conceivably give their career a boost. It worked for Judge Aileen Cannon ffs. Fourteen days court experience and she's in charge of Trump's document case. For now...
