Right on both counts. Habba said she'd rather be pretty because she could always act smart. Not so.
Apparently when Rudy was running around filing sixty odd court cases trying to overturn the election result and claiming Trump was paying him $20,000 per hour, Trump was telling people Rudy would only be paid if he won.
Habba just cost Trump over $88 million. She shouldn't spend any of the money she billed Trump for her work just yet...
It looks from a Trump post on Troth Senshal that Trump is looking for a lawyer. Stupidity or a desire to seek notoriety essential.

Roberta Kaplan, E Jean Carroll's lawyer, is reported as saying if Trump is going to appeal he has two options. He has to deposit the entire amount in a trust which will be forfeited if he loses the appeal, or he can pay a deposit and post the rest as a bond paying interest on the balance. Similar to how bail operates in the US. Kaplan also states that in the event he does neither she will commence collection action immediately.
Meanwhile it seems Trump doesn't have a lwyer.

It's reported that Trump paid private investigators nearly US$250,000 to keep an eye on what his lawyers were up to. That detail will no doubt be of interest to any law firm currently considering working for Trump. Should there actually be a law firm considering working for Trump.
Oh, and the RWNJ wing of the Republican Party have decided that Alina Habba is an undercover operative planted on Trump by the deep state.
Which is about up there with their new assertion that Taylor Swift is a "psy op".

Biggish story in the US today. It seems that Digital World Aquisitions the company that was going to finance Trump's 'media empire' Truth Social, is under serious investigation for money laundering. The initial funding was apparently from Russia. The investigation does not involve Trump directly but will likely hold up the $300 million he would have used to fund his app prior to the election.

Interesting. When I saw that it was the Washington Post I expected to be blocked but wasn't. I used to be a subscriber but am not now.
This item does not relate to the current money laundering investigation, it's from 2021. It explains who is who. The Yanks are big on acronyms and there are plenty in this.

After some delay Trump's appeal regarding presidential immunity has been denied. Doubtless he will appeal that - if he can get a lawyer. In case you are wondering there is no such thing as presidential immunity. That's just something he dreamed up. If nothing else it will delay proceedings, and in the absence of any other defence Trump seeks delay after delay.

There is so much Trump news these days something has to stand out to be worth mentioning. A judge in New York presiding over the hush money payment to Stormy Daniels has apparently scheduled Trump's trial for March. It's difficult to see how Trump can logically escape jail for this. His co defendant Michael Cohen has already done time for his part in the offence. Logic though, does not always seem to apply.

The decision on the Trump fraud trial is in. He is fined US$364 million. He will appeal, but under New York law he has to post a bond of $364 million either from his own funds or by borrowing it - if he can find someone prepared to loan him the necessary.

GFJ, is all I have to say about that. GFJ!

A Go Fund Me account has been set up to raise $350 million for Trump. The number is so big that most people have no real concept of how much that actually is. Last report the account had raised $28,000.
This is interesting because some pundits feel Trump supporters have been milked hard for six years and they really don't have much more to give. We'll see.
Update: In addition to his many other products including Trump Vodka, Trump Airlines, and Trump Urine Tests (yes, that was a thing apparently), Trump has now launched Trump Sneakers. Even at just over NZ$650 per pair he'll need to sell a lot of them to raise US$350 million.

Ohh. I've been punished.
Let's see if we can get poor people pay for it.
I mean I don't want to use my own, probably largely imaginary, money.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
It's entertaining how many people are willing to pay $5 to post their opinion of the situation.
