Now the troll part I'll take offence to. If you can't handle someone having an opposing opinion to you then this forum may not be suitable to you.

Excellent, may the most worthy candidate win.
Harris broke records for the most small donations ever given in a 24 hour period by quite some margin, so both bases are certainly fired up. Interesting times ahead.

    100% agree!
Yes, she has done that and she is adding much needed spark to the Democrats. It's going to be a tight race, may the best person win. All we can do is sit back and watch the show!

I see the vile attack ads are being rolled out as well. The maggots are terrified. Well they're terrified of women generally - hence their attempts to control them and their reproductive functions. But a woman of colour who won't put up with that bullshit? Bring it on.

I watched a bit of the head of the secret service being char grilled by the House committee today. What was really obvious was the grandstanding by the people asking the questions. They were using her as a prop in their own agendas. It was performative in the extreme. Still, it does appear as if her organisation screwed up and that's why she gets the big bucks - to sit in the hot seat and move uncomfortably from arse cheek to arse cheek.

And I certainly don't condone political violence. That goes for the guy that took pot shots at the cheeto cheater, and it applies equally to his attempted insurrection (mk 1- I am absolutely certain there will be a mk 2).

What's that curse about interesting times?

Thia ia a trump speech from 2016 and somehow peple claim Biden was confused? What is trump going to be like now, 8 years later?

"Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you're a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it's true! — but when you're a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that's why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we're a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it's not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it's four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven't figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it's gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible."

Would kb2020dope consider this the thought processes of a rational person?

Having watched lots of clips of Congressional hearings I can confirm that's par for the course. It's about giving the politicians a sound bite for Fox or whoever.

The Secret Service like to promote themselves as some sort of elite but they have an ongoing history of scandals. I did note that it seems they have somewhat recently had to include women in the details and when the detail surrounded Trump his head and shoulders were still exposed because the women lacked the height to conceal him. Ooops! Also one of the women was shown struggling to holster her pistol. Hardly confidence inspiring. In the latest video of Trump on the move there is just the one female and she is trailing along behind - well out of the way.

Why the SS snipers didn't engage the shooter in the two minutes that passed after they were first warned remains a mystery. That could have / should have been made public. Having watched the head of the SS in Congress today though I won't hold my breath.

Listening to a podcast tonight and learned that Trump is now the oldest candidate ever to run for US president. He's already older than Reagan was when he departed the office with Alzheimer's. Trump is widely believed to be cognitively impaired and he was a "fucking moron"* to start with. He couldn't even stay awake for his own criminal trial.

*As described by Trump's first Secretary of State, one of "the best people".

True, but Biden is no longer a candidate, so all the republicans advertisments and talking points about the candidates age now point dirctly back at trump

Yes but Biden had not been officially nominated, the election is to take place at the Democrat's National Conference which is still a month or so away. Similarly Kamala Harris, or whoever, will not be the official nominee until elected by the delegates at the conference.

Therefore Trump is the oldest candidate ever as he was elected Republican nominee last weekend.

Senator Joe Manchin announced that he was running for the nomination but it seems he forgot he had resigned from the Democrat Party. Hopefully he was given the customary advice regarding sex and travel.

Either of them would have been the oldest president ever elected this year. And Biden was in 2016 when he beat Trump fair and square to the post.
