One grift after another. Melania has written a book. CNN contacted the publisher to request an interview with Melanie about the book. They were told an interview would cost $250,000. The book won't be getting much publicity then.

Considering Michelle Obamas speaking fees are $200,000-$750,000 - It seems this is well in the ball park of what is expected of a First Lady.

But the Obamas speaking fees are paid, so some think they are worth listening to. And they also do freebies, and provide other benefits as below. Trumps largesse was more along the lines of throwing paper towels (paid for by someone else) at Puerto Ricans
“Since leaving office, President Obama has spent his time doing public and private events, both paid and unpaid, that are true to his values and his record,” Kevin Lewis, the former president’s spokesman, wrote in an email. Mr. Lewis added that the paid speeches had helped make it possible for Mr. Obama to contribute $2 million to employment and job-training programs for low-income young people in Chicago. Gesus tdl, speaking to a paying audience vs interview to promote your book.

Are you intentionally this stupid or is it by accident?

Melania gets north of $200,000 for a speech. This was not a speech. It was to be an interview about her book which would have promoted it. That's completely different and most news organisations have rules about paying for interviews that specifically preclude that.

    Yet another failed grift.

    Peters jailed.

Now there's a headline... Wrong Peters though.

This one was a County Clerk who really believed Trumps bullshit about election fraud - she still does. She thought if the judge read the reports he too would understand, but no... He had read the "snake oil" and he was not impressed. She told him that she needs a magnetic mattress to sleep and that she can't go to prison because there are people there who committed crimes. A one point in the trial the judge laughed at another he actually did a face palm.

She had admitted MAGA operatives to the secure area containing electoral records and machinery. They copied the voter records and the software on the machines. One result of this was that several people received death threats.

The judge sentenced her to nine years. six months of which must be served in the county jail, as her crimes were against the people of county.

There's a lot about this on YouTube, this report is brief. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cr75mpkm7nro

The wheels of justice grind slow. It has been four years since Trump's various attempts to overthrow the election result. In the 160 page document filed by the prosecution the cast of characters is referred to as P1, P2, etc, for person 1 etc. Or CC1, CC2, etc, for co conspirator 1 and so on. In the text the CCs are referred to as 'unindicted co conspirators.' Knowledgable legal pundits consider that these latter will not be unindicted for much longer.

US conspiracy law states that any group of two people or more who plan to commit one or more crimes commits a conspiracy. There is a requirement though that they must undertake one act to further the aim of the conspiracy. If a group of guys in the pub hatch a plan to overthrow the government then go home and sleep it off without doing anything that's not a prosecutable onspiracy. Once there is a conspiracy though all members of the group are equally guilty of any act committed by any member of the group.

The various unindicted co conspirators in Jack Smith's paperwork may be losing sleep about now.
