So just before Christmas, the demonstratively most unproductive congress in history actually had a bipartisan bill ready to sign, to be sent off for bidens signature to keep the Government going for a few months longer. So what stopped this rare act of the congress doing their job? Well that would be Elon Musk stepping and reminding the magamob they now work for him as he had purchased the election for them. He used his social media channel to interfere with the US Government by telling them the bill was naff, and he then went on to let them know if they did not fall in line with his orders, he would finance primaries against all of them - essentially firing them. amusingly trump only got in on it much later in the day once he had finished golf.
Enough of the congress magamob followed the new bosses instructions and tanked the bill. They did pass a replacement bill, just without provisions like researching children's cancer. Elons saving money methods are off to a fab start.
Musk was just getting warmed up, because he got into a scrap with the far right maga mob on his twitter platform and ended up restricting a bunch of their accounts. Mr free speech absolutest shining bright.

However to answer the What Masters question: There are a number of people who share a utopian vision of the future, who sincerely believe that they could make a perfect world if everyone just did as they bid.
The WEF is an example of one such institution, Stalinda and Trudeau implementing curiously identical policies, rubbing shoulders with curiously the same people, being invited to curiously the same functions and holding curiously similar beliefs.
There are other institutions that display similar behaviors.
Do I believe it is a formal conspiracy, run in a secluded chamber where people sit around smoking cigars and laughting maniacally - No.
Do I believe that there are people who have gone through the same University indoctrination, have a priori similar views and beliefs, align with people that also share those goals and so coalesce around a number of similar ideas - Yes.
