I thought the main issue was that they were illegal migrants and as a side those with criminal links were being prioritised. Anyhow the reception given by El Salvador blows the narrative out of the water that all migrants are just people seeking better jobs and that there’s no criminal elements involved.

Yeah they have been removing references to anything that seems DEI even if they probably can't even spell DEI. Reference to Jackie Robinson was removed. He served in WW2 and dates back to when there were seperate baseball leagues for whites and coloureds. He was either the first or one of the first African Americans to cross over to the whites only league and he would certainly not have been welcomed by all. Robinson is a huge figure in US sports history. The outcry appears to have resulted in the restoration of his record.

Ira Hayes, a Native American, was one of the marines in a famous photograph of Marines raising a flag on Iwo Jima. I remember seeing a movie about Hayes when I was a kid. Apparently he too qualifies as DEI.

The Navajo code talkers and the Tuskagee airmen also fell victim to the insanity but they too may have since been restored.

I did not search for Colin Powell. I went to the notable American sections, under the Politics section, scrolled down - and lo and behold! There he was. Exactly where he should be.
