That's just Trump being a cunt, I mean being Trump.

Can't achieve anything of merit, but it sure is much easier to slag someone else off as a distraction and to give the air that maybe he is a glorious saviour (spoiler alert, he's not).

It's not very often I'd want to be a fly on the wall at a court case but...

In the E Jean Carrol rape/defamation case there is an interesting moment coming up. Lawyers for the plaintiff have presented a series of witnesses. Trump having decided he'd rather be in Scotland than at his court case, his lawyers were planning to call just one witness. That witness will not now be appearing.

So it seems we will arrive at a stage where the lawyers for the plaintiff announce to the court that they are finished and they rest their case. The judge will then ask Trump's lawyers to present their case and call their witnesses and they will announce that they have no witnesses. The jury will likely be sitting there with their mouths open.

This is a civil case the standard of proof is not 'beyond a reasonable doubt'. The jury's decision will be based on the preponderance of the evidence - the entirety of which comes from just one side.

Expect some circus plays by Team Trump.

Ironic IMO, that lawyers for a known liar are going to have to stand up and say "she's lying" as the only defence they can produce.

Trump has lost yet another legal action. He was sueing the NY Times, several journalists, and his niece Mary Trump, for releasing his tax details in the Pulitzer Prize winning article. The judge has Ruled in favour of the NY Times and the journalists, and Trump has to pay their legal fees. Possibly around a million dollars. His own legal team may not be so fortunate.

The Mary Trump part of the action is still work in progress. Trump alleges she did not have the right to release the information because of a non-disclosure agreement.

In more legal news attributed to the defamation trial, rapist trumps team is not even going to put up a defence now.
Before party hats break out, it could mean the rapist has found enough jurors to buy off.

    News just keeps coming:

Proud Boys Enrique Tarrio, 3 others guilty of Jan. 6 seditious conspiracy
Prosecutors alleged defendants viewed themselves as Donald Trump’s army, intent on keeping him in power through violence.

That's interesting on a coupla counts. Tarrio was not present at the insurgency on Jan 6th but was found guilty. The charge was a conspiracy charge so he only had to take part in the planning. That raises the possibility of higher level Republican peratives such as Rudy Giuliani, Roger Stone, Steve Bannon, John Eastman, etc, also facing charges.

There was known to be a planning meeting at the Willard hotel prior to the events of the sixth. All present now have good reason to hire a lawyer. As do some Republican Congressional representatives.

    Washington Post....May 5, 2023 at 4:53 p.m. EDT

"At least eight of the 16 Georgia Republicans who convened in December 2020 to declare Donald Trump the winner of the presidential contest despite his loss in the state have accepted immunity deals from Atlanta-area prosecutors investigating alleged election interference, according to a lawyer for the electors."

    This is simply incredible.
In the Trump defamation/rape case, the lawyers interviewed trump while he was under oath.
Trump says that Jean Carrol is not his type, trump kindly takes time to also reveal the lawyer interviewing him is also not his type. THEN in the same interview when shown a photo, trump mistakes Jean Carroll for his ex wife Marla - so clearly he married a woman that is not his "type"
I cannot think why trumps lawyers don't want him testifying.
Considering the jury saw this video yesterday, it really is not looking good for the rapist ex president.

Holy shit, if anything, this section of the interview is even worse!!!!

Trump has filed a motion to move his NY fraud case and the 34 Indictments his business is facing to federal court. This is considered unlikely to succeed.

If the case did move to federal court, and if he was elected President, he could pardon himself. A president can't pardon people convicted in state courts, the Governor of the state can, but New York has a Democrat Governor.

    He is a cunning prick.

I saw Jordan Peterson say that trumpk had a high IQ....in some respects he might do but as a decent human he scores below the median.
