Yes, seems odd to me that a country allied with Russia, China and North Korea has taken 30+ years not to develop a nuclear weapon, even with periodic Israeli interventions.

Especially now that they’ve shown themselves sane enough not to take on Israel and the US by themselves in a conventional war.

    Welcome to the rabbit hole.

Now apply that thinking to most mainstream media reports and not just the ones you agree with to start seeing the bigger pictureÂ…
YouÂ’ll notice our politicians love releasing bad news on a Friday. After a weekend of booze and arguing refs rugby calls we have forgotten by Monday that weÂ’ve just been rug pulled again.

Remember all the other injustices were supposed to be worried about, the girls in busing faso, migrant babies drowning in rafts, BLM etc non of those problems ever got any betterÂ….

They are actually quite Intelligent in a diplomatic sense and been quite measured in responses to various provocations. I guess the big losses in Iran-Iraq war is not forgotten either.

But in reply to Pete’s comment about glass parking lot we in the west do not truely understand their logic. Their way of thinking is that if you die in a war or battle then that’s just part of standing for whatever principles/freedoms are at stake. Triggernometry channel has done some great interviews on this recently with experts about how we don’t understand Iran or Russia and we keep making mistake of applying our way of thinking to their cultures.

On a side note the whole nucluer thing is more about restricting access to cheap energy. If the nutters in North Korea have t nuked anyone then we can pretty much trust anyone else with them. Restrictions on nucluer materials are about restriction to cheap energy.
Show me a major economic power that does not have nucluer power stations as part of its energy infrastructure.
NZ needs to get past this hang up as the future evolves around AI data centres and our entire national output could easily be consumed by one decent mega data centres of future. We need to keep up or become third world irrelevant in 50 years time.

    Heyya, thanks for the answer.
Your words go against every reputable economists analyses on the subject.
It will add more than 2 trillion to their national debt, and the payback is coming out of middle class income earners pockets.

If anything they may actually end up paying MORE tax because the reduction has brought it closer to compete with the skyrocketing interest rates.

And the time and effort for writing off etc vs reward ratio has now reduced, rich humans value their time, they may end up paying the government instead of the banks.

What I’m getting at is it’s the middle class who benefit the most - justifiable in my eyes.

Your claim makes zero sense especially as the tech for reactors was freely shared by French and the USA.
    Atoms for peace......
They only restrict the tech for the fuel and the enriching of fuel to in order to try to restrict nuclear weapons proliferation.

Also claiming anything based on the thus far non use by North Korea makes no sense especially as North Korea has lacked a long range delivery system.

North Korea is also more a threat and is it seems more afraid of its its own citizens.
Aside from China, who is realistically wanting to invade it?

The wheels grind slow but they grind fine... Lawyer Kenneth Chesebro, generally considered the architect of Trump's false elector scheme, has been banned from practicing law in New York. He is the fourth lawyer to lose his licence to practice law for doing Trump's bidding. Next up Alina Hubba?

Look like the honeymoon is officially over: BREAKING: Billionaire oligarch Elon Musk stabs Donald Trump in the back in jaw-dropping fashion and announces that he will fund primary challenges to every Republican lawmaker who votes to pass the "big, beautiful bill."
This just went off like a bomb in MAGA land...
"Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame! And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth," Musk wrote on Twitter.
