This one at least has current interest. But I've always considered the priviledge of posting in rant and rave should be earned by motorcycle related posts.

Such as this? "United States President Donald Trump said today that he had pardoned Ross Ulbricht, the man behind the “Silk Road” online marketplace that facilitated millions of dollars of drug sales.

In 2015, Ulbricht was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of masterminding the “dark web” platform, on which some US$200 million ($353m) in narcotics were sold to customers across the world.

Ulbricht, who ran Silk Road under the alias “Dread Pirate Roberts” and who had also been accused of commissioning five murders, was sentenced to two life sentences for narcotics distribution and criminal enterprise."

I have not looked deeply into the Ross Ulbricht case.

However, from what I know, Silk Road was simply an unregulated market place - and yes unregulated means that there was a lot of drugs being bought and sold, however No one accussed Ross of actually dealing the Drugs.

The Murder-for-hire accusation was (according to Yahoo news...) Dismissed with Prejudice.

It appears the main argument from a legal perspective here is that whilst Ross did facilitate something Illegal - he was a first time, non-violent offender - similar people recieving 1-4 year sentences. The double life sentence was due to the accusation of a murder-for-hire plot, but this was never proven in court (as above, appears to have been dismissed with prejudice) and so should not have been a factor in sentencing.

Looking at some Libertarian sources - I see similar sentiments: No one is saying Ross was not guilty of committing a crime or should not have been sentenced - what they are saying is that harshness of the sentence was a massive overreach.

And one other point to note: Apparently this was a Campaign pledge that he would pardon Ross - so promises made, promises Kept.

Yeah. In case anyone didn't quite grasp that. It's why we all have nipples. Males have no purpose for nipples but the nipples develop before the gender of the foetus has been determined.

These redneck politicians are idiots. Dangerous idiots.

Except that Gender is determined, at conception, by the 23rd Chromosome. Whilst the post is partially correct that the differentiation between the two sexes does not happen until week 6 or 7 - at no point do the cells in the body have an XX chromosomal pair on the 23rd pair, that magically changes to an XY.

They are not Dangerous Idiots - this is the equal and opposite reaction to a concerted effort to push a radical view of Sex and Gender that has no basis in Biology and has its origins in political theory.

Men and Women are different - it should not be controversial to say that, but here we are.

I didn't watch the inauguration but have seen clips such as Musk's tribute to Hitler. It seems I also missed a significant fail. Trump's organisation is usually ummm fragile.
Normally US presidential staff have everything as near perfect as possible. Trump teams not so much. They tend to misspell the name of the guest of honour or similar. When a few months back Trump told the oil bosses that if they gave him a billion dollars they could have anything they wanted their main concern was that nobody in Trump's White House would be capable of preparing the documentation.

At the inauguration Carrie Underwood was to sing 'America The Beautiful' to the accompaniment of a backing track. They couldn't afford a band? Normally for such a significant event you'd have backup - and probably backup for the back up. Not for Trump's inauguration though. A few notes in the backing track failed. Ms Underwood was suddenly singing a cappella. She did it well though and people in the room may not have even released a fuck up was in progress.

Trumps plan to deny citizenship to people born in the US has hit a road block. A federal judge has ruled it unconstitutional. From here I guess it winds its way to the Supreme Court where it seems almost anything goes these days.

Interesting to see if it’s a full release or only partial like last time he was in power. Note the obedient media has zero questions about the jfk files….

Warning at one point the pen is a bit dry and its likes fingernails on chalkboard.
