This is interesting on a number of levels. Although the ethics expert mentioned says this is not illegal, inquiries have been initiated in both Houses of Congress.

Trump promised the oil companies an executive order on day one. Somewhat worryingly the companies are composing the appropriate executive order themselves. They don't believe Trump will have anybody in his next administration capable of doing so. In the latter days of his last administration legal documents were written by people who appeared to lack legal training. The concern seems justified.

It wouldn't surprise me if his team faked an attempt to gain him popularity, "with look the deep state radical left is trying to stop him" as they are scared of him LOL

    Excellent result.
Fox readers heads will explode, as they have shamefully been grossly misreporting this trial all the way through. If you were a fox reader, trump had a good day in court everyday. The opinion pieces on fox were especially shameful, not a shred of reality in them at all!

What a shame Demonlord bailed before the fun really started!

The MAGA crew are shouting that these guilty verdicts will win the election for Trump. There is one vote he won't get. As a convicted felon in Florida Trump can not vote.

    I'll drink to that.

Reportedly, there's another WTF coming. The Supreme Court is considering Presidential Immunity atm.
There's talk they're taking the Presidential Pardon system as a model for what the founders wanted.
IE The divine right of Kings...

To do whatever they wish with no guardrails.

It'll be interesting to see what comes out of this.

It's a very odd Supreme Court they have at the moment. Expensive gifts to Justices who were hearing cases involving the gift giver. Among other gifts Justice Thomas was reportedly loaned a private jet to fly to NZ with his wife for a holiday. He has turned the Court into a nice little earner.

The president has wide powers to pardon. Although it would be a first and certainly controversial, if elected again Trump could potentially pardon himself. He could make all those pesky Justice Dept investigations just go away. Perhaps not the E Jean Carol civil cases though, and there may be another of those to come because he was slagging her off again during this trial.

Trump could not pardon himself for today's 34 felony convictions. They are state convictions not federal. If a Republican was to be elected governor of New York State though, he or she could pardon Trump for these.

If the presidential pardon thing goes through, woudn;t it be possible for Biden to dispatch Seal Team 6 or someone to take care of things? It;s been done before - 'Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?" (King Henry II) Used in modern-day contexts to express that a ruler's wish may be interpreted as a command by his or her subordinates.

Trump says he will appeal - of course. He will likely be unaware of who the judges on the Manhattan appeals court are. He is going to be unhappy when he finds out.

Cheers the funniest thing I’ve read in awhile. Speaking of Biden he’s just approved the use of American supplied weapons by Ukraine inside Russian territory. I think very soon we will have much more to worry about than Trump.
