Being trying times with Connie and I having a rather substantial amount of powered tools and other assetsI decided to set up a survaillance system at home. I had few options wired or wireless. shop bought or home brew. Being a bit of a scrooge I decided on home brew. I'd never done much wireless stuff in the the past so thought that would be a good path to take and learn something in the process.
I have a few older PC systems so decided to re-purpose one as a control/monitoring system. Also have a few Android table to play with. the end result was the following:
HP 3Ghz P4 as main monitor set up. This runs Linux and using Xema monertoring softwrare.
A Samsung 7" and ancient no name7" Adroid table trunning Jelly Beam for mobile control/setup which Connie set up with iCSee Pro monitoring/set up software.
A free wireless IP camera located under the car port facing down the drive.
A no name wireless IP camera in the kitchen covering the front yard.
g that will k\let everyone know if someone is outback.
The hardest part was finding Linux software that acted similarly to iCSee Pro on the Android tablets. Once all the gear and software was obtained it was a peice of piss to set up and get running. For a 61 year old couple I think we did prety well. Also in the proceess re purposing so called obsolete devices. Does the usual stuff-upload to the "Cloud",email notifications, voice to the cameras speaker etc.
What do other KB members use to monitor there homes/properties?
