    Read the Sharp website material. I was sceptical but it sounds like they have made a real effort to assign a tiered safety rating. Arai for example used to score average as side protection not near as good as frontal.

    Arai used to argue that the spot the testers chose on the side of the helmet would not normally hit the ground, it'd be protected by the shoulder. There used to also be an argument about Snell tested helmets Vs European helmets. It looks as if that's been rejuvinated as Sharp Vs Snell. I'm not going to bother reading that as I have no immediate plans to buy another helmet.
