Amen. Thought I was walking in September, dropped back to 90kph, so gentle on the throttle. Walking into town vs riding... Powerful motivator

One of the first things I do with a new bike is fill it full of fuel. Strap on a 10 litre fuel container, and see how far it will go on a tank of fuel.

Seeing how far you get on reserve is also seen.

Me, too. Sometimes even 38 litres isn't enough!

Because it lies. I've had a range of 6km left, filled up, no problem. I've also been trundling down the motorway with ranging saying 17km left. *cough* actually, I'm empty.

You cop a bit of a ribbing when you run the Exxon Valdez of motorcycles empty

Yeah I've pushed my Tiger with 22km left showing. Learnt to trust the good ol trip meter again instead of new fancy predictions

I agree with Bass about running the fuel pump dry - don't.
The stated volume of my fuel tank is 15 litres, however, I measured it at 14 litres. I wonder if the fuel pump in the tank explains the difference (or may be Aprilia optimism). 1 litre is almost 20km of pushing....
