    Lightbulb 2006 KB Kalendar photos

Right, I made the commitment to do this, I better make a start on it. Life is kinda leavin me in the dust at the mo, hence not much has been said on it, but I started it, so I'm gonna finish it, and it seems like it has just about the support it needs to see it thru.

Due to the nature of time not standing still for me (I know, go figure), this first one will be a little more limited than we should be able to do, if it goes ahead next year.

Photos this time round, are only going to be accepted digitally. I don't have time to scan photos in etc. Please keep them in their native size off the camera, preferably as big as possible. The print is going to be around A4, so keep this in mind for your camera settings and selecting that winning shot.

Please keep it to your favourite shot, or few at most. If there is 2 or 3 nice shots of the same bike, or style etc, then some arty farty thing might be done, but please don't send them with this in mind. If you have several shots you think you could submit, cos you're a bit of a guru (eg Big Dave), then downsize them to something like 480 x 640 72dpi for an idea, and then send them, and say what size the original is at. I'll then keep this for the first cut and then ask for the full size version of the selected shot.

Please keep the shots as clean and as appealing as possible. Avoid dark bikes by not shooting into the sun etc. Think about lighting and shadows around the shot. Go have a look at some site for top tips on taking photos if you haven't got any already. If you need help, or don't have access to a decent camera, then PM myself, or one of the budding photographers on the site nearest to you (no point PM'ing me if you're in Chch!). I'm sure most will be able to help out on a nice day!

Email your photos to me. I may not reply straight away, but your contributions are what makes the site you're reading, so it's all for the best possible cause. And don't forget to mention your KB name, if it's not obvious in your bike/email addy.

First cut - the size of the photos
Second cut - the repetitive of bikes/locations/styles of shot
Third cut - location in NZ
Fourth cut - Deadline is midnight November 6. Any shots emailed after that will be rejected this time round.
Fifth cut - Senior members will get priority over newbies, but that doesn't mean not to send in photos
Sixth cut - How we see fit, 'we' being Spank, Joni and myself.

    Please bear in mind -
    * This could be a regular thing. If your shot isn't included in this one, then it could be considered for the next calendar. No bike will be in more than one calendar.

    * As rushed as this is going to be, it's not intentional. Our call is going to be the final call, next time should be easier. We can do it differently then.

Above all, it's designed to help all the KBer's here, celebrate their glorious machines in every corner of NZ and overseas. It's meant to be fun, and a cool little project, and the underlying tones, are a big thanks to Spank who puts in more than we'll ever know, so support this - supports Spank, so we have a home.

    So whatcha waiting for?

oh, btw - please keep this thread on topic and to the point. Can't be arsed reading thru 10 pages of how nice a pair of tits are. That's the other thread..

Oh, and if you have a caption for the shot too. Not your life story, but a one-liner or something, then go for it. It's not mandatory, just an optional extra/idea.. And no BS in it either, but something whitty or philosophic etc, then include it in the email with your photo

And group shots are encouraged too.. doesn't have to be a solo bike shot, so be creative with anyone else around. The more bikes in it (displayed nicely, not some random "and here we are at the beach" shot), then the better chance it has at being involved too

Also, mind out for the little things too, when taking pics.. As nice as they are, gloves and helmets on mirrors/tanks etc, just kinda spoil the shot sometimes. So look at the whole picture, not just the subject.. detail people, detail..

Instead of a quote for the bike. How about having a classic KB quote for each month too. Obviously they would relate to the bike of the month, but would be very KB.

By all means, shoot away, and hope you get a decent shot - especially getting up at 5am for it!!!!

Calendars will be $15 each, and details on how to buy will be posted later. Most likely thru me or Spank aka - the site, and some may be distributed to others in the main areas like Wgtn and Chch to help with purchases etc

yeah, I was thinking that.. just a real big shame they aren't KBer's bikes.. but could make good fillers, so who knows..

Anyone want to get a 'power bikes' shot in some how..? May be get the cream of the crop lined up on 22 or the grid of Puke all in leathes? Could be a good shot
