    Here it comes private collection of enforcement data. Where’s our resident lawyer I see some good loopholes already. Data collected by a third party, evidenced transferred (copied so not original) to third party servers. “The footage captured will be sent to Sydney, to data centres run by Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, and be retained for 30 days while Waka Kotahi assesses it.”

    You have right to face your accuser and question accuracy of evidence and that its original. Cases have already been thrown out when police cropped an image and resized it to better see offender in car.

    It is good it’s going to pick up seatbelt and cellphone offending though.

    But we are now on a slippery slope where private entity and big business becomes police.

    Once offshore and in a US controlled data facility, we can have no expectation of NZ law having any control over the use and access
    it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
