Ummm we did when we signed s free trade deal with them....

It’s not a fail as far as the people running the show are concerned.... It’s quite a setback how’s many people are pro socialism here. Yes it’s great to have a safety nerve for those at the bottom but sac Thatcher said the problem is you eventually run out of other people’s money....

Other people money aye its a shame that the real figures don't match your rhetoric

Helen Clark’s Labour Government inherited a net debt of 23.9 percent of GDP from the Bolger/Shipley Government, which Labour’s Finance Minister Michael Cullen paid down to 5.4 percent of GDP.
Under John Key and Bill English, debt as a percentage of GDP skyrocketed from 9.1 percent to 24.6 percent.

Oh look even marget thatchers performance doesn't match her own rhetoric

We? You were talking about people around here. We didn't do that. We didn't win the Americas cup. We didn't play oval ball in a paddock.
So your statement is still rubbish. No one here I've heard defending communism.

But the irony of your comparison is the trade deal is interacting with the market to sell goods to an enormous cache of consumers.

Beardies can sip their cappuccinos whilst arguing Led Zeppelin weren't actually a heavy metal band. Or the difference between socialism and communism, it's all pretty mute.

Either way the same amount left or right tends to lead to Autocracy. Dont be trying to argue one is better than the other. Because History bitches.

    Well, they weren't....

    (Musical explanation to follow)

Whilst it's true that Led Zep have some very heavy tracks and have many of the markers of Proto-Metal (along with many bands of the era - such as Deep Purple) - there is one thing that is distinctly missing when compared to IMO the first Metal Band - Black Sabbath (quick side note - Ozzy has consistently maintained that they were a Blues Rock band - but NVM)

That is the consistent presence of 16th note, Palm Muted, Power chord riffs in the region of ~120 bpm.

Consider the outro to the song Black Sabbath: https://youtu.be/0lVdMbUx1_k?t=314

The Staccato, machine-gun like riff, palm-muted due to Iommi's industrial accident - this is what sets the likes of a very heavy riff from Led Zep (e.g. the Immigrant Song or Kashmir or similar) from being.

You can hear this in the likes of Paranoid (the main verse riff) or War Pigs (at the start of the 3rd verse - Politicians hide themselves away).

This repeated musical motif is what differentiated Hard Rock/Heavy Rock and the Proto-Metal bands from actual Heavy Metal - it's true that those bands (DP, LZ etc.) did use this technique in limited spurts, it's the ubiquity in Black Sabbath's music that draws attention to it as a main rhythmic and melodic device.

I'll also raise the subject of Lyrical content (something I generally don't like to do when discussing pure music theory) - but Black Sabbath's 'Black Sabbath' (as well as the name) really did pioneer the broaching of the taboo subject of Satan/Demons/Evil in popular musical format. And whilst Metal doesn't require this to be present (which is why I don't like to include it) it is relevant to the formation and differentiation between Black Sabbath and their contemporaries.

So TL;DR - Led Zep are Heavy, but they aren't Heavy Metal because they don't make regular use of a Palm-muted 16th note Power Chords.

Let’s not forget that around this time security services and tech giants were actively searching for breaches of live footage sharing....
And here we have a STATE agency knowing about what will clearly be a political minefield and no one told Jackie girl about it..... Tui add right there

So if it "lying" when Labour do it, what word would you use for National doing the same thing?

"But National didn't do any better. Figures show that in 2010-2011 when National was in power, 67 percent of new public housing spaces were purchased rather than built, compared to 21 percent in 2019-2020 under Labour.

"Nicola Willis is either misrepresenting the facts or is confused about what 'places' refers to which is surprising as this is how the provision of public housing homes has been referred to for many years, including under National which oversaw a net reduction of 1500 public housing places," Woods says."
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern leads NZ prefered PM poll on 55 per cent: her tally included 15 per cent of National voters.
Only 37 per cent of National voters favoured Judith Collins (AKA KAREN)
When approached by reporters for comment Collins insisted on speaking to the reporter's manager.

let's get this straight, nearly 2/3ds of Nationals own voters don't even believe their own party's leader Karen Collins would make the best PM.

Big surprise. All politicians lie, or at least misrepresent the numbers. They usually pressure the govt departments to come up with numbers the want to use. The most evil was reporting that the reduction of waiting list for surgery and treatment was reduced. So they just had to relocate people off the waiting list. Clark govt that time.

Both labour and national Rockstar economy was artificially propped up with 70,000 immigrants a year to make the number look better. We went from 4-5 million in record time. I'll let you do the math for how many imports in last decade.

Gee. We seem to have a housing crisis. How ever did that happen? I guess we need more houses (or, duh, less people). And infrastructure needs a big boost. Who's going to pay for that? Ummm.

So what else can be said? That anything National did in their 9 years of government is off the hook because it happened in the past but anything Labour has done in their (so far) three years of government is fair game?
