In reality they just further extended the existing capital gains tax that already existed, introduced by the last National led government and already extended once in their last term, so not really 'new' as such.

The notable difference is that the first time it was announced before they were elected, this time they've just done it without any advance notice, and just for fun added removal of tax deductions for interest.

It also seems that in order to kill investor activity in the property market, they have yet to provide any detail on exactly what their vague announcement means, which serves to prolong the time before everyone gets their lawyer and accountant on the job to figure out how to work around whatever their new rules are.

Governments with an absolute majority are a dangerous thing....

    .
Odd I thought labour won with an increased majority as National had proved to be so inept and unpopular that they had three different leaders in less than three months. With each subsequent leader proving to be more unpopular than the last.
Maybe labour were just lucky Nationaal were so politically inept.

You thought this was noteworthy. Fortune magazine has rated her the worlds greatest leader. Big gap there. Somebody is way off.

Who the hell is 'Fortune' magazine?

    You thought they are noteworthy?

Bit like the circle jerk session NZ has with the * big advertising spender brand name* media awards where nz tv journos all get a bunch of participation trophies to pretend we have free independent media 😂😂😂😂

The magazine caper is about as worthy as a post it note with a smiley face from the boss for saying thanks in your help with the latest hostile corporate takeover session.
She may have achieved her owners objectives but I think there’s about ten pages here of her leadership failings...
