    Electrical Wall Switch Help

Working on renovations, and got three wall switches like this one in the house - what if any country/standard are they from?

Been asking a few mates but they are all mechanics and fabricators and have no clue.

Wanting to swap all switches in the place with touch switches and smart switches.

Hole in wall is about 90x90, faceplate is 115x110, and screw holes are 46 horizontal across and 85 vertical

    Thanks

Looks like bog-standard switches from the 1970s. PDL?

Take a switch into an an electrical supply outlet and ask for the fittings you want ... and fittings you need to install them. That type of switch is common throughout NZ.

Yeah I've attempted to track down an electrical supply place I can go into with some photos and face plate, but haven't found one that is open at hours I'm not working.

Just the three are like this. All other sockets and plugs are the same as you'd get anywhere in NZ and same as my other two places.

Bunnings or Mitre10 might have what you want. Or know who will ... or just google electrical wholesalers for your area.

Nah, thats why I thought I'd ask here. They only have standard NZ fittings found in most homes. Common NZ size is 75 x 115, making them too small for where these ones are

Might google wholesaler and see if they can help over email though

nz pdl switch from the era, you'll need an invoc adaptor plate as you can't buy wide switches any more, this will take it down to a single size, or patch up the gib around it and put a single flush box in. go to an electrical wholesaler for this and the switches, the hardware shops will not have what you want.

The only non "standard" wall boxes I have seen were for Ring-Grip "Champagne" series switches and sockets. Square rather than rectangular. Took a whole lot out of the house and replaced with standards.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.
