    Update:
The quality is a bit off. Often when a new scene starts mouths move with no sound but only for a second or so. Then the scene starts again with dialogue. You don't actually miss anything.
In the final big action scene though a critical second or two is missing which spoils that a bit.

Anyhoo the price is right and it saved me from waiting for Netflix.
Managed half of it before the broken sound got better of me. B-grade movie propped up by Sagan’s name. Let down by lots of ridiculous implausible moments….

    WARNING PLOT SPOILERS FOLLOW

Firstly the female FBI agent who somehow manages to be a functioning person after discovering her mother with her brains blown out, worse when it’s confirmed later as self inflicted.
Then we have Statham violently assault security forces outside an office building. Of course no one notices this (either from the building or members of public) and he progresses to enter the building, threaten more people then get to the main hacker floor. He spends a significant amount of time here and no police response has secured any perimeter of building, no active shooter type evacuation occurs etc.
Anyhow then he pours gasoline over functioning high powered computer equipment in a room full of people wearing synthetic clothes and sitting on plastic chairs with personal electronic devices and there is no premature detonation of the vapour cloud from spurious sources of static or powered electrical discharges.
There’s a lot more of that stuff but give you an idea of the weak directing/plot

Btw it’s common for “free” movies slash tv series to be like this to avoid copyright algorithms in terms of distorted soundtrack and also the image will be cropped slightly or sometimes zoom right in for same thing.

Really a 3/10 that with alcohol and proper sound/visuals might creep up to 6/10

Sometimes we just have tp suspend belief. We can't sit there seriously watching John Wick, The Equaliser, or even The Gentlemen.

I wasn't going to watch Danger Close because a major character, the Kiwi Forward Observer, seemed to have changed from a Kiwi to an Australian. When it was available on TV though I gave in and had a look. Almost immediately there was a glaring error. The incoming tracers were red. For those that may not be aware, 'our' tracers are red, 'theirs' are green. They burn different salts apparently. I decided to stop noticing the errors and just watch the bloody movie.

Yes I agree it’s just an expectation of slightly higher intellectual stimulation when bigger names involved.

A bit of Fred to remind us we got easy these days in most jobs. This several man job would prob be a team of twenty managers/eco experts etc these days just to plan it. Meanwhile Fred would be all done and having a pint before modern day guys would have drawn plans up.

Dune 2 at the movies - its available from the torrents but a cam, and it needs to be seen on a big screen with a big sound system.

A bit talky , but thats pretty much the way Frank Herbert wrote it. Action scenes great visually and aurally. Followed perfectly from the first movie. Liked it a lot.

The outfit. Is a movie. New to Netflix. Subtle at first but watchable. Not full of hollywood stars so easier to appear unique I guess? Same thing you could say about most foreign movies….

Watched that last night - kept us interested right to the end, a few twists that were unexpected.

Thanks I'll give that a watch. I got a bit desperate over the weekend, watched old westerns on YouTube. One was actually in colour... (I subscribe to YT so I don't get ads.)

Noooooo just practice your quick draw on mute button. At the moment YouTube is a place to find lots of cool independently made interesting content once the algorithm has figured what you like.
As soon as everyone is sucked into paying it’s just gonna be Netflix mark 2.
And like Netflix they’ll eventually increase the price of ad free version once the masses are trapped.

Despite YouTube already serving up mostly what I like it’s now giving me a big black screen with QR code trying to prompt me to log in so I only see the stuff that I’m already seeing.
I suspect soon like stupid tv3 Freeview app you’ll have to sign it for it to work at all.

I use a firefox fork called waterfox, and both browsers with add blockers work fine (ublock Origin) on blocking YouTube adds. I have seen some articles saying YouTube penalizes users like me with slower loading videos, but I cannot say I have experienced this. I have never seen a advert on YouTube using the prementioned.

It's good for music which is why I started paying. An ad interrupting a song is a serious piss off.

Don't you already have to log in to use most things? Obviously some remember your last log in.

I’ve been watching the new season of Halo on TVNZ+, I liked the first one and this one is pretty good too – not a gamer so coming to it completely ignorant of the canon to spoil any expectations.

But I can confirm that TVNZ are increasing the number and frequency of streaming ad breaks. Not yet at the ludicrous levels of terrestrial TV, but given how much money they’re losing, and that they don’t have any better ideas, I guess that’s likely where they’ll want to go.

I don’t think they realise how much that alienates their audience.

Not what I was expecting, but then nothing much was, right through the movie. Thanks.

Torrent downloadss. Whats not to like about (say) 5 seasons of Breaking Bad without a single ad, plus the availability of a huge number of older shows that are no longer broadcast.
