Been watching 'Tunnel' on TVNZ+. You have to suspend belief but it has its moments. A joint Brit/French police operation trying to catch a serial killer.
There's no way I'll be finished all series of this before Reacher series 2 starts on Prime Video next week.

When I've seen all those I'll have to renew my Apple sub to see the Sloan House series. For which thanks.

Been watching 'Tunnel' on TVNZ+. You have to suspend belief but it has its moments. A joint Brit/French police operation trying to catch a serial killer.

It's based on the original Scandinavian "The Bridge" (Bron/Broen) which is considerably better than The Tunnel subtitles and all, and if you want some other Scandi Noir, the Killing (Forbrydelsen) and Midnight sun (Midnattssol) are well worth a watch

there was also an adaptation of the Bridge set on the US Mexico border which was pretty dire.

My pitch to NZ on air for one set on the Cook Straight ferry where half of the body was from the North Island the the other from the South Island wasnt picked up. No idea why. I had Tem Morrison for the grumpy jaded North Island detective and Zoe Bell for the South Island one.

YouTube algorithm seems to be dishing up fear of nucluer war for some reason.
Some of the older docos make for interesting watching in terms of how advanced we’ve since become and how jobs have changed.
This one shows a very human labour intensive way of measuring predicted fallout, triangulating blast location then telephoning warnings to relevant stations and towns.
Can’t say I’d fancy the job of going up the manhole to grab the data knowing another missile could be coming in…

Excellent show. If I hadn't seen Sofia Vergara on the Graham Norton show I wouldn't have recognised her in the lead role. Way different to how we saw her in Modern Family.

Some intriguing insights and also gives pause that perhaps the quest for green energy was a tool to try and avoid Russian domination of energy supply as a lot of this would have been forecast by experts and even early on many in west recognises the dangers

I don't know why, or how long for, but Jason Statham's "The Beekeeper" is currently available free on YouTube.



Update:
The quality is a bit off. Often when a new scene starts mouths move with no sound but only for a second or so. Then the scene starts again with dialogue. You don't actually miss anything.
In the final big action scene though a critical second or two is missing which spoils that a bit.

Anyhoo the price is right and it saved me from waiting for Netflix.
