When it first came out, and possessed a certain novelty value, I'd sometimes order what was called a "Dinner box". They did away with that and basically I haven't been back since. The first KFC here was at this end of town but they moved it in to the middle of town. What used to be KFC is now a fish and chips emporium which I occasionally visit. Haven't had KFC since a decade or so before the end of the last century. Don't miss it.
Do miss Georgie Pie though.

Only a Rat can win a Rat Race!
The far far superior product is "KFC" - Korean Fried Chicken. there are a number of places locally but it is generally very bloody tasty indeed.

I think as a general rule, once past the age of 20 it becomes inedible.
I last had some on the way to Philip Island when ghe tour guy stopped there. We rolled out steaming drunk (good old days of getting loaded on free airline booze) but jesus it was still horrible even with a skin full. So circa 18 October 1997.
There's one over the road from supermarket. Jeez does it stink. And still people que up to buy it?
Don't you look at my accountant.

Stop making me feel old.
At Chch Boys High, about 1975 the first one in Chch opened in Riccarton and a good school friend got evening work there. We were all in awe and envy that he got to work in the trendiest new type of food outlet we had ever seen! That friend introduced me to motorbikes. At High School we were 15 and he bought a Triumph 3TA (350 twin) black with high rise pull back bars and Dunstall pipes- wow so cool! I sat on it...and have loved motorbikes ever since that moment. He died tens years ago at 50 of a heart attack. I feel old. RIP Grant.
I often think of him when I get KFC. He never told us of the secret KFC recipe, took it to his grave-loyal employees at KFC

We lived near Royal Oak in 1971, and would regularly have KFC. Found this online:

Hmm, that 5 piece pack is $24.16 in todays money. The dinner box is $19.78. KFC has always been expensive.
