Yup and it mentions exactly my point in the article, he put one forward for a mandatory cut and old whatsit with the Batchelor of Attendance veto'd it immediately"

"Act leader David Seymour said the pay cuts for politicians should be mandatory, rather than at the discretion of the Remuneration Authority, and the same 20 per cent cut should apply across the board for all MPs.

In his speech to Parliament, he also criticised the two-month delay in passing the law to ensure the pay cuts would apply.

"It was April 14 when the Prime Minister was happy to bathe in national, indeed global, media adulation for leadership when announcing an MP pay cut would be made. Yet here we are a month later."

His own attempts to introduce a law change earlier had been blocked by the Government."

So I stand by my statement

Rimmer (Seymour) knew he was on safe ground as he knew full well that the Remuneration Authority sets pay for pollies. His grandstanding move for the polly creatures to set their own pay rates would never fly as the public would not wear it. They all like to have their pay set by an outside-ish party so they can "reluctantly" take it while saying "Nothing to do with me. Forced to take it".

    Yeah nah.
IIRC it was his idea to begin with that Labour finally enacted. Not the first one of his policies they've nicked and called their own too.

No... Never... A politician nicking someone elses idea? Next you will be telling me Father Christmas isn't real. Thank the Gods that I still have MotoGP to believe in. Any bets on?

After my huge win on Austria I had a strong hunch on Martin for Silverstone, which Marquez put end to lap 1.

I'll have a good think and advise Autechs underdog. I would rule out Aleix tbh but will need to see FP1 and 2 to know.
Otherwise one of the KTMs if they're working for the best odds

Yep. Having their own and beneficiaries, pensioners, etc, set at a distance from the politicians seems a good idea though. The rates are set after a review of a set of economic indicators.

The US national minimum wage has been US$7.25 since 2009. The rate is set by the politicians themselves. Prices have inflated hugely in the last 12 years or so, yet the Republican politicians have opposed any effort to increase the $7.25. Still some minimum wage employees vote for them, talk about turkeys and Christmas.

Some individual states may set their own minimum wage. It's a common cry from Republican supporters that if the minimum wage is increased to $15, as has been suggested, a burger will cost $38.00 or some other outrageous amount. Washington DC has a minimum wage of $15.00 and their burgers are not notably more expensive than elsewhere in the USA.

Not so. Any country with "democratic" in its name means it most certainly isn't anything of the sort!

Just like the rest of her promises, either never delivered OR delayed until they get booted out and a new government has to deal with the gian steaming turds they created. "Kiwibuild", "child poverty" anyone?

Actually it’s mostly the woke media outlets pushing all this and other stuff.

Quite refreshing to see my cell network provider now has the pacific people’s word for hello. One waits to see if they’ve willhonour the other ethnic minorities living here.....,

On a side note it would be devastating for business. We already struggle to getvrest of world to realise we are not just part of Australia. The key to all successful business is marketing and you don’t wanna want to confuse the world and where’s or who’s we are.

    Got me there.

Actually I never really look hard a flags. I only just realised that various nordic countries have a sideways cross on them as I cut one off a techy neck warmer I bought disgusted with the evil imagery of christ on my clothing, turned it sideways and went. Hey. That's the swedish flag. Duh. [Snip snip].

Yesterday was Tongan language day. (Who knew we even had a Tongan language day?) The cell provider might have a different word today.

Bet the burgers are just as shit though. A pissed up Autech was in NYC at about 3am and stopped at a McDonalds, bought burger and even whilst pissed as a fart I couldn't eat it as it was so disgusting.
