You rode dirt bikes in Karori in the 80's? Parkside, Wrights Hill?

Wrights hill. But due to my age I'm afraid it was on my HMX500, which is less factory works bike and more Healing Industries .

My brothers mates did and he took some pics back then including Scrub-cross.

That takes me back to when I lived in Karori. Used to visit Wrights Hill on my RT2 in the early 70s.

A 360 two stroke was a useful tool for commuting in Wellington too.

Ha! I was there from 79 to 84 in South Karori. I had a panther, the rims ensured I got a puncture or three every day until I snapped the frame lol. HMX500s were the only bike I could wheelie with any proficiency, but they had cranks made of butter!
I can remember pushing my panther up wrights hill getting passed by pe250's and pe400's thinking "one day all I will have to do is turn a throttle too" lol. And so it came to be with a poor old ts185er, then xr200 followed by rm125d. Great days!

I broke the frame but the neighbour welded it. A mates Panther broke the mags when he tried jumping the practice wickets at KNS school where I went. We'd ride around the Arena and get wet in the puddles. Best bit was back down the hill. Was pretty much closed up by the time I got my flogfed out XR250 and that was plain ugly with 23" front wheel and two knackered tyres and a skinny 17 Yr old.
