So in the states it is, I think, one in 500 people have died of the covid. Of course there is always the matter of interpretation of whether or not it was covid or pre existing, bla bla bla, but, that is a lot of people. Everyone would know one or two people who have died at least.

I appreciate that it's impossible for this government to ever satisfy you. On the other hand, you could open your eyes, look around, and make a list of the governments that have handled COVID better than ours. Shouldn't take long?

But if you correct that data for population size itÂ’s not so bad
UK would be 160 and USA 32 with UK having 12 times our population and USA being 60 times our population.
Then if you factor in higher more denser population and far greater use public transport there always going to have larger numbers than us.
UK has large immigrant population, people live in cold houses with poor access to sunlight and fresh air. And Everyone goes to local pub after work to watch footy and have a pint.

Remember these are deaths per million of the population if the UK had have handled Covid as poorly as the USA they could have had about 8x as many deaths if we are to use you contrite population size is the defining factor rather than effective and early controls.

Using your UK has more immigrant population doesn't make sense either

The USA population as a percentage of migrants is 14.4%
The NZ population as a percentage of migrants 29.4%



Using the deaths for the UK doesnt work either as it peretty much follows the % of ethnicity anyway.

Claiming its related to Public transport doesnt pan out either as the AV US ctizen spends 40 hours on public transport whilst the average Kiwi spends around 20 hours each
I cant find the UK figures but it would be significantly higher then the US probably by a margin of 5:1
