Erik, knowing you as I do, I had never doubted that you were a man of your word, there are plenty of others that have had the Highway 22 pick up service, they know who they are.

I was on the Opo ride had a blast! caught up with everyone at the Brynderwyn corner and left the ride at Maungatapere a total of 350 odd kms

Don’t get me wrong here the loan of the van was a grand gesture and am happy to put a contribution towards the running costs.

I think the precedent has now been set; in the future any loan of a vehicle will have the running costs covered which is the way it should be.

Just what to make a few points…..

1 I carried all my own gear

    2 Transported my own Women

3 Purchased at Opinoni the alcohol I consumed at Opinoni

4 Have my own recovery equipment, my own van and a Horse float.

5 Offered in a post ( Copy Attached) to provide transportation of a bike back to Auckland for anybody if there bike broke down. This was before the offer of the van was made.

There have been lots of generalizations been made here and on other threads, I don’t like being made to look like a Cunt without some explanation of why I may be that particular Cunt!

Rant Over…. Have a good and safe long weekend everyone.

folks --hey lets just leave it alone--The petrol thing wasn't an issue-If it was I'da said so right from the start. It was the fact that this is my RACE VAN
without it Im totally fucked to get to the track.
To take an old vehicle on a long drive without checking the oil/water to me verges on well --stupid to be honest

But I don't think it is appropriate to name and shame all.

Had I been on my bike the trip I would have expected the driver to be responsible. I wouldn't usually for example check the oil in another riders ride. Also if I was given a price for the trip I would assume that it was all inclusive unless the organiser said something to the contrary.

NOT saying that it is ok to return the van like that, it isn't, just think it may be a little unjust to implicate all.
    People - this is right
I was there - and i DID assume it was taken care of, either by the leader, or by the bloke who's bike got carted, or .... i'm ashamed to say it.. by someone other than me. Frosty, it was a great gesture, lending your van -- made several people's life easier [the sick bike's rider and others who used it to cart stuff they didn't want to carry] and i, for one, am thoroughly ashamed of the way your kindness has been repaid .........

I'll gladly contribute to Juzzer's "better late than never" fund ...... Frosty, sorry again.

Thankfully I have never needed to call on you for help but knowing you guys are there when or god forbid we need help is a great comfort. Damn shame if a few (aka the minority) hurt the rest of us. Your help and pledges of help go a long way.

Glad to see its being sorted
