Often for those not reading/knowing/UNDERSTANDING the (NEW) rules ... might very well have issues.

That issue would be the most common (and can be expensive) issue with imports from L/H drive countries ... into R/H drive countries. Or vice versa.

As anyone that needed to replace the headlights on Ducati imports from such countries will testify.

A new Headlight case for an SR500 shouldn't be that expensive.

I think so. Not 100% sure. I was going to revin a car but had to book it months in advance so gave up and sold it. I asked about bikes aand I think they said they no longer do it. Will ask again next time I go there.

I have a current project that I will be wanting to get vinned and complied next year. It is early seventies so before vinning and was actually registered. Whether it shows up in their systems is another thing altogether...I dont have the old plate it had.

i'm picking a sealed beam insert would be dirt cheap, this guy doesn't get it and has had several simple questions removed from his auction so far, and the next he beliittles saying they couldn't afford it....

That was still possible even under the old rules. there are 100 exceptions (per year) to the new rule for old classic motorcycle imports (rebuilds ??) ... so it should be still possible now.

A few posts ago you stated you rang them up. You will require their services for a motorcycle you have ... but you never thought to ask then.

It can't be urgent or important then ... for you at least.

someone might need to grovel a bit on TM
    https://www.nzta.govt.nz/vehicles/ve...-rule-changes/
    Exemptions

There is no requirement for existing motorcycles to be retrofitted with ABS.
There is also a limited exception from the Rule for motorcycles registered in any country prior to 1 January 1990. These motorcycles will not be required to be fitted with ABS or CBS. This will allow motorcycle collectors to continue to import classic motorcycles where there is no ABS equipped option available.
