New Zealand when it's cabin boy, Nicholas Young,
spotted land.

1917-Felix Graf Von Luckner, a
German WW1 officer shown as
the "Sea Devil" for his exploits as
captain of the SMS Seeadler raider,
was imprisoned in New Zealand.

1941-Dairy farmer Stanley Graham killed seven
people in Kowhitirangi on the South Island's West Coast.
One of New Zealand's longest manhunts ended when
Graham was shot on the evening of 20 October.
He died of his wounds the following day

Hiruharama ( Jerusalem ) on the Wanganui
River.


1941-The hunt for an anarchist called
"The Graham" was ongoing, with law
enforcement deploying measures like
Lewis guns and considering a bulldozer
to break through the bush in the
Waikato.
