You DID read right ... BUT ... !!!


The Armed forces (which DO include Police) do not actually have ALL the same rights and privileges ... as all civilians do.

The exemption is to do with having Sworn Allegiance to the Crown.

It only applies to those who have already sworn allegiance to the crown. Even those that have already LEFT their respective service force.

Beyond warfare ... the military may be employed in additional sanctioned (and non-sanctioned) functions within the state. Including internal security threats / population control / promotion of a political agendas / emergency services and reconstruction and protecting corporate economic interests.



And some other stuff you don't need to know about ... if you don't know already.



But ... that does NOT mean the cops and army has ended anything regarding the protests ... IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM.

That is ... ANY protest ... ANYWHERE in NZ.
