Gone are the days of reliable trip times... there’s always someone doing 20-30 under the posted speed limit or roadworks repairing the stupid wire barriers.... now it feels like winning lotto if you have clean run anywhere....

Last check in 1pm... Picton Ferry
    Ferry leaves at 2pm.

Can I do this with NO idea where I am going?
    How hard can it be....

    Thanks for the comments!
Pick your bike up at 1030. It'lll be closer to 1100 before you leave.

Book a Motel unit in Picton for the night before you go. Ride there and enjoy your new bike on the way. No pressure.

Stay the night in Picton and relax while you're checking out your new bike parked outside and having a quiet beer.

Get the Ferry in the morning. That's what I would do.

people are always late, but ring them anyway. If you dont turn up there may be a monetry penalty too in the way of a rebooking fee.Its quite a curvy and hilly road for a good part of it

    Hey I can help here.

Nelson to Blenheim is an hour and a bit on the bike. The whangamoa hill climb is fantastic and really fun. A lot of people die each year on that hill.
After the hill it’s pretty flat and you can really cane it.
Optional you could take the queen charlotte which would save 40 mins but is really windy, technical and random gravel thrown around.
Blenheim to Picton on the highway is 25 km really smooth and fast.
You will make the ferry but as rookie on that road some corners may surprise you.

Any questions let me know, I ride/drive it all the time

Coming from Nelson there's no need to go to Blenheim

Ahhh, there is your problem. Whilst riding two bikes at once is a skill to be commended, doing that shit has to slow you down
