    Kdx200

I was just getting my 91/93 (it was put together from parts apparently) KDX200 ready to go after sitting for over a year by cleaning the old fuel out of the Keihin PWS 36mm Carb (Literally the first time I had taken it apart for years) and found the Slide looking like this. It runs OK but can be a little hard to start sometimes and can be a little fluffy at low throttle openings. Am I right in thinking this Slide needs replacing for a new one which will made it easier to start and less fluffy down low? Or is this something old KDX's all do and replacing it won't made a difference.

    Cheers

Yes that is common, but the next thing is a groove will wear. Slide cost $186 20 yrs ago. Ebay might be better. If no groove should be useable.

Std they blubber like a baby. A new (different) needle and pilot plus mainjet will make it like a new bike. Send me a PM and when I'm back at my laptop I'll look it up.

Do look at the needle jet with magnifier. They can wear oval with vibration if left to idle forever.
Don't you look at my accountant.

Thanks for the reply, Life stuff got in the way of checking this out earlier. Good point about the needle jet. I set it up using a jetting chart published on the net by a really keen yank fellow years ago and it transform the KDX.
