Second, is there anywhere in the Auckland area that fixes these? We used to use a woman on K-road (kerry?) many years back, but not sure if she's still going, and don't have the contact details anymore.

Blue moon Leather, see nice lady who will fix and charge a good price for doing so, she's a wonder woman when it comes to leater is our lesley.
