    Greetings

    Hi everyone,

New to New Zealand. Been here about a month and a bit. From South Africa.

Not entirely new to the forum. I posted here (with different username) back in 2017 when I came for a holiday here.

Been riding since 2014. Honda cbx250, KTM 390 Duke, KTM 1050.

Quite keen to get a bike for commuting to the CBD in the future. Currently takes me about 1.5 hours via bus ( living in Howick Auckland). Still need to do the research though. Costs, safety, etc

Anyhoo, just thought I would introduce myself.

    Cheers

    Welkom!

If you haven't done so already I'd advise a trip to Barry's Point Road on the North Shore. You'll be able to get a good idea of what is around following a few hours spent there. Below 650cc means significantly lower registration (Rego) costs and normally lower fuel consumption and general running costs.

    Good luck!

Minor correction - below 600 for the reduced rego. No power limit tho unless you are on LAMS. So get that 117hp 600 Yamaha and enjoy the cheaper rego than the likes of me on my 39hp KLR650 (yes it done annoy me)
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Dam, the bike I had in the back of my mind is a Suzuki SV 650. Will have a look at the Rego difference. Perhaps another 390.

Ah yes - You're quite right my friend!

You can tell I haven't bought anything under that capacity for a while...

I saw one of these t'other day. Had a good chat with the owner. I neglected to ask what the rego is....
Had a look on teh NZTA website but specific rego for leccy bikes is not stated. However, electric (goods) vehicles are $140 a year... Pizza bike?
