I'd like to fully blame distributors (multiple ones, so many nice models we don't get), but in reality, likely all our stock piggy backs Australia, and our demand is so tiny compared to other countries. Heard a stat recently (think it was cars) but our annual demand was something like 2hrs on the BMW production line...

The new Honda CB750 Hornet twin can't be made into a LAMs version, maybe the rumoured Transalp version will come here?

Blue Wang will ensure they retail at $27k, be surprised when they dont sell in volume, then special them off at $19,990 after a year or couple of years. They also won't stock any spares and will DQ spares and service after 3 years.

    So theres that.

    Sounds about right.

They don't look really high spec'd no brembos ohlins (Showa front, and colour display though) so if the 650s sell for $15000 and they're inline 4s, the Hornet 750 should sell for roughly the same. $16,995 - $17,995 at a stretch. (UK price is 6999 pounds or $14,995 NZ so we'll see if that translates to real world)

Add another $1000 for a version with a fairing if it's a sports tourer, then add another $1000 at least to that if they do the adventure (Transalp) version for spoked/bigger wheels/taller suspension etc

Making the NC look pretty damn good, provided you're the type of rider who can appreciate its particular set of skills .

there's a lot more brands out there than a decade or two ago, reliable ones too so market share for many is small, hard to stock a large range when that happens

A couple more options, the expected new Honda Transalp 750:

    And the new 'P'-Strom 800.

Ouch, $20,000 for a new Transalp. That’s more than I expected.

    https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/m...ing/4016689552

    At least it’s ride-away.

Hornet a bargain at only $15,995 + ORC.

Sadly looking at those price points on Trademe, they're not likely to sell many of either at those prices. To Honda's credit they're not as stupidly priced as the New KLR650 at $14,995. While a little left field, the Indians and Chinese are not just coming any more, they're here.

A few more listings on TM now for the Transalp.

The $19995 plus orc is indicative only. This will be confirmed before the release
    Hmmm...curious .

Older tech for sure but at $14,500 some will be cross shopping. For $20,000 there's an awful lot of options out there, including new V-strom 1000's.

The new P-strom 800 is cheaper than the Transalp at $18,999 but not by much. Inflation hitting new models?
