Motorcycle lifts

Hi all i just brought motorcycle lift.not a pro lift .my qwestion is whould not be better to use centre stand of the bike as well the front wheel vice or chock.
Just want be safe as possible.
Watched lots you tube videos.
Not seen on person use centre stand.bike straps what ones to use .many thanks in advance

Well, if no-one else is going to comment, I will.
I've never liked the front wheel clamp setup on most hoist tables. I left a bolt-on piece there to run the wheel up against - and made up a 1 meter wide bar with hooks welded on for tiedowns. This bolted under the table and provided tiedown points on each side. Worked very well for me with bikes from a GS1100G down to buckets. Usually the tiedowns went to the bottom triple clamp.
In a shop the clamps are fine as a bike should only be up there for as short a time as possible. At home a bike could be up there for weeks. Having been through the quakes I may possibly be slightly paranoid.....

I did like my 1100G . Comfortable pillion bike I enjoyed with the wife to be. Got a bit hectic when riding with others. Good to 7/10s.

Nothing 20 years of classis development wouldn't fix I said at the time.

RF900 was next tourer. Said to be very underrated. I thought it was hopelessly over rated. 90s suzuki shite. Just couldn't keep it going. Hmm, what do I mean? Just it was shit at everything.

And thereafter they made great value for money rubbish bikes.
