A friend of mine has a Peugeot EV. Well, it's his wife's car but she can't get her hands on it. An hour north of here his instruments told him he didn't have enough battery to make it to New Plymouth. The braking he did in the Awakino Gorge gave him enough charge to make it. (He uses a lot of brakes, he used to race.)
I could do without the tension.
On a cold morning we were discussing heaters. Bright as a button he informed me that the heater in his Peugeot pumps out heat immediately. He omitted to mention that in doing so it reduces his range.
The acceleration some of the things have can compete with big sprotbikes. Currently they are at the bottom of the learning curve. They are going to be amazing when fully developed.

Teslas certainly do, which makes for an expensive repair unless an unapproved fix is applied https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8-OkfCcRAo
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Elon's original 6-8 weeks time frame for SpaceX to complete repairs to the Starship launch site has come and gone.
New estimate? Another 6-8 weeks...they're doing a lot of work there though, so who knows, this time he might be right.
The costs involved must be enormous.

I think most EVs have liquid cooled batteries, Teslas do. There are simple plastic connectors which can be broken off if you run over something. If that happens Tesla will only offer to sell you a new battery. There are YouTube clips showing mechanics using basic plumbing techniques to repair the joint and save the owner a few tens of thousands of dollars.

Rich repairs does some interesting videos. Latest one I have viewed was rebuiding an $8000 (!) McLaren P1 battery (the little one not the big main batteries) for $100. Wasnt perfect but can put up with a lot for $7900

Elon is now an anti vaxxer. Joe Rogan wants a particular doctor to debate conspiracy theorist and ant vaxxer RFK Jr on his show. Elon is in favour. Elon is an idiot.

The “semi” has been subject to a recall with NTSB figures suggesting that only 36 have been built in last six months or so….

This is not about Musk but it is about electric cars. The clip is about ten minutes worth but it does explain some of those sales figures. Tens of thousands of new cars, registered, but parked in paddocks to rot.
