I'll give you guys a basic break down why Tesla share price has fallen so much -65+%, let's throw in -10% for Elon being Elon to the equation.

"Tesla will sell every car Tesla produces "-Elon Musk.

Demand won't be the problem, it's how much profit they make off every Tesla sold, currently 29%, so when profit margins come down

Future Earnings per share come down

Share price then tanks, I believe it's oversold, but I can't predict the future any more than someone predicting that Tesla will fail as a company.

And when interest rates are lowered, people feel rich, people buy more house's and motorcycles and Teslas on finance tick, demand explodes , prices increase,Tesla margins increase, Share price goes to the moon .

Interest rates don't just affect your home loan, they affect the share market as well.

This is another reason why Musk bought Twitter, so people have access to the full story.

Oh you simply must, if you don't already, go check out some fella on twitter. (@guydealership, from memory), you'd love what he says he's seeing in the car market. Buy more shares.

Tesla shares do not pay out dividends ever, so there are no earnings per share at all.
There’s no way that Elon Ego could withstand daily scrutiny by the share market ups and downs.

While all automakers sometimes design things a little vulnerable this illustrates the type of problems a new manufacturer without experience of production makes.

EPS is not dividends, it's earnings per share, how much earnings each share you own of the company generates in earnings, companies listed on the Nasdaq are future growth companies like Tesla, those listed on the Dow Jones industrial average don't have growth so they pay shareholders a dividend.

If you want cashflow, invest in the Dow Jones
It you want large returns but higher risk invest in the Nasdaq.

Or you buy shares of a company listed on the Nasdaq you believe will grow in value, then sell at another time in the future, in my case about 2030.

I didn't Google this response, so I stand to be corrected, but should near enough.

You keep going on about how much money you earn in shares, but in the real worlds share earning are not realised until you sell them.
so if you have not sold any telsa stock has is it you earned any return. Especially considering telsa do no pay dividends?
So how exactly how have you earned any money in teala shares....

Profit or losses are only realised upon sale of any particular asset.

I earn 0% income from investing in Tesla,

Capital gains is a different story.

Your Also not taxed on the capital gain in NZ from the return by investing in Tesla.

Trading, yes, long term buy and hold, no tax.

I wonder why? not going down that rabbit hole.

Capital gains are only achieved when an asset is sold so you have earned zero dollars from Tesla (this is of course assuming you actually have teslas shares)

    NZ tax law says however
you are liable for income tax when you purchased shares or other investments with the intention to sell for a profit.
ie they look for these activities a lot of which is something you have said you do.....
Individuals show a pattern of (usually frequent) buying and selling of shares over time
Individuals invest significant levels of capital in investments, in particular when investing on margin / borrowing to invest
Individuals monitor their investment portfolios closely, perhaps using an advanced online trading platform
Individuals spend a lot of time researching their investments
Individuals buy high risk shares to flip at a profit
Shares are bought and sold on ‘revenue’ account instead of capital account.

Maybe you shouldnt be advertising on a social media site that you do this for income.....

    Try reading my posts carefully

I break them down and keep it short and simple so even you can understand them.

Short term trader's get taxed, long term buy and hold investors don't.

You should be a tax accountant lol.

    Tesla is a growth story.

Teslas sold the past decade -

    2022: 1,313,851
    2021: 936,222
    2020: 499,550
    2019: 367,500
    2018: 245,240
    2017: 103,097
    2016: 76,295
    2015: 50,580
    2014: 31,655
    2013: 22,477
    2012: 2,650
    2011: 0

Demand issues? With this much growth year on year?, it's settled

    Elon Musk is a genius.

Why am I paying thousands a year for a registered chartered accountant in tax law, when I can just take free advice from Husenbergs Google searches.
