Very unlikely NZ will block FSD, UK and EU trialing it and beginning to write/change legislation, California already embracing it, the rest of North America will follow

It's only a matter of time before monitored FSD is available in NZ,

The biggest problem with Tesla FSD is that it's not human, and too cautious, the human animal doesn't give a fk about speed limits when they are late or busting to go to the toilet.

Tesla FSD is currently a better driver than anyone over 80 years old, Tesla FSD will likely take at a guess 50% of road users of the road, peering into the next 20 years, I predict you will need a special permit to drive a car, for the next generation will not need or understand why us old farts drive at all? Similar to going to a library, Owning a CD player, having a landline.

Please don't vent your frustrations out on me, this is just what's going to happen as Artificial intelligence becomes apart of our everyday lives.

1/ Tesla is developing the next generation affordable EV, this is likely to kill off at least 2 or 3 auto manufacturers.

2/ You can pay for FSD by subscription, like anything else today should you choose it.

3/Most young people won't want either when an autonomous vehicle can pick them up around the city.

4/ It's getting cheaper to build EVs, so EVs will eventually flood the city streets, autonomous or not.

Tesla is likely to start advertising this year, this will inform the world basically of what I have been posting on this thread, now Tesla is the number 1 selling car in the world, in a few years, my opinion will likely be mainstream or the boring norm and last decades news.

I know you pooh poohed BYD, but they are coming for the world market, Tesla will have to move fast to compete at the lower end where the lion share of the sales are made. And speed of development from tesla has been underwhelming to date. And Tesla are already selling some cars with BYD batteries yes?
I like ev's, will get one when they sort out infrastructure on the charging front. I travel from one end of the country to the other often, and infra is not there yet and quite some time away imo. Not to mention speed of charging is still an issue for me.

Naturally you are entitled to your opinion, but I personally do not see tesla dominating ev sales for much longer.

^^ Tesla cannot transition the entire world fleet by themselves, that's about 2 billion gas guzzlers, after building more giga factories Tesla is aiming for 20 million EVs by 2030, Im picking closer to 2035, they need BYD, Ford ,GM VW and any other start up companies to replace the worlds entire fleet of cars.

Tesla Model Y over taking the Toyota Corolla as the number 1 selling car in the world is impressive considering it's almost twice the price, I believe the buyers market of the model y and 3 is or will become exhausted over the next year or so, The next market is the largest market, the affordable car range, I own 2 Teslas and for me I don't even use them, well unless I have to take the dog for a walk or shopping whatever, I prefer my motorcycle for commuting in Auckland traffic.

My point being, is the affordable car market is the market that matters most, because
these people don't give a fuck what they drive so long as it's cheap and reliable, with the Tech that's in Tesla and obviously fuel savings, any political bias is going to be thrown out the door with opinions on Musk.

Similar to those on this site that shit on him but are happy to use his Starlink internet.

The difference between electric cars ATM is a matter of choice for the wealthy, this will not matter with a 2nd hand Tesla is 15 grand comes on the market.

This is no different to the motorcycle community in White wealthy Western countries, it's a rich man's hobby, motorcycles will not come down in cost in the west so will remain elusive to a small portion of the population, I don't include gangs or dirt bike riders because they are a small minority.

When your only 2 choices are Apple and Samsung, the rest are fighting for the scrap's.

If it wasn't SpaceX there would be another company taking their place, and they most likely wouldn't be using reusable stages like SpaceX are. Better of two evils if you want to look at it that way.

Yes I read that report

1/The negatives were taken from 2015 to 2022, there was bound to be growing pains in that long time frame, you can't just design something and expect it to be 100% from day 1.

2/ Musk has stated for every 10 positive achievements Tesla/Space X has made, the 1 negative will always make headlines

3/ Per million miles driven with FSD activated, data shows FSD was 10 times safer than humans, although the data came from driver's of Teslas that were already safe driver's and monitored FSD when activated.

4/ The number 1 goal of FSD is to eliminate driver error bringing down the horrendous death rates of the 1.35 million people that die on the roads
internationally yearly from human error.

5/ I mean, this is a motorcycle forum, FSD will save thousands of motorcyclist lives once activated in NZ

Anyone else notice on this forum that use mainstream media links end up being wrong in time, similar to what Mr Demonlord was saying on his post, he had his own opinion which eventually became true eg: covaids/ socialist Labour.

This is similar to how I see Musk, I have my own opinion on him and his nutty visions, he's always late but he eventually achieves what he sets out to do

Ford and Tesla our now working together to share Teslas 15,000 charging stations in north America( on average 2 charging stations are being built a day)

This is 2 private company enemies working together to achieve a common goal, unlike public political parties that block each others progress and the citizens end up paying the price for their arrogance.

There is great opportunity for space Travel, I believe south Aucklands Mangere Rocketlab is only second to Elon Musks Space x
