    Catalytic converters

My nephews had theirs ripped out last night. I didn't know that had started happening in NZ. Some desperate little P head no doubt. I think they have a prius? How much would a crackhead get for a C/C for one of those?

One of my sons' runs a workshop in Wgton....When changing systems on customers cars they throw them in a pile and every now and then, cash them in. They make a "bob" for the social club he reckons...

I was a Mech in the 60's and I'm amazed how much the Mechanical trade has changed compared to this modern world we live in.....
(and yes he has had customers who park in the street ,come out in the morning, to the Cats chopped out of their cars !!!!!!!!!) Must be money in it ?

You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.
If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..

Scrap dealers should be suspicious of someone who turns up with. a shopping trolley full of cats but of course they just turn a blind eye
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

A few sources state about $800 tops at the recycler end. Might be worth a gram, maybe half.

    Sources???

I heard about $50 worth of palladium in there???

A fully intact one might be worth more in countries where a working one is required for WOF etc…

How long till we get our first Darwin Award. There seems a USA news story about once every few months of theives being crushed when their jacks fail….

Someone should invent a system where you could seal your exhaust overnight filled with lpg. Might be interesting if you forget to purge the system.

Read Pete's link and try various other ones that explore the costs of various things.
