There should be a special IP category for NZ. I've done some work with complex instrumentation over the years, and the standard response after reporting a problem with waterproof equipment was "It hasn't leaked anywhere else in the world."

I keep forgetting to take pictures at Trials.
They were already taking down sections but you could see where.

Glorious day of riding. Wind up a bit which is a shame as bbq guests planned later.

I was a bit late leaving this morning and ended up riding home on a very hot afternoon. But it was stunning in the North Waikato. I tried to find somewhere to stop to take photos, but the backroads have no shoulder, and the grass doesn't get cut anymore. To compensate, here is a photo of Lake Waikare in the spring.

One day I should do a ride and concentrate on taking photos. But those roads are just too much fun...

Nice. But yeah like on Trials I'm so concentrated on the sections I forget photos, I've found myself road riding and going to heckmwith it, it's too fun to stop.

Bit stiff now, fell over a couple of times in comedy roll overs.

Yeah most times I take pics is when i stop because I have reached a place that I am turning around anyway, stopped for a tag game or places I have sorta decided that it worth a pic anyway and that is sorta planned in advance too. I take lotsa pics with the 4wd club bcause we stop often or we are going so slowly it doesnt really disrupt the flow

Coming from Haast past one of the lakes through the trees: Vista of mountain top peering through a gap. Then lake. Wow. Blink and take a mental image.
Wasn't really safe to stop either place and was tail end of a group as well. Oh well. It's in RAM.
    . But being slowly corrupted.

I've done Haast to Wanaka many times, but it's still gob-smackingly impressive every time. The road from the gap between lake Hawea and lake Wanaka down to Hawea town encourages spirited riding
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

No lakes sorry. But I can manage a waterfall, although it was for more impressive being there.

(Tried to make the photo smaller but it ended up sideways.)

Well it seems churlish to post this when others are being hit so hard.

But here's a Carteron ride, tbh I piled after just one lap. Lots of scary downhill on damp grass and rain was looming.

Didn't look so bad as I left a trail ride earlier than I have in my entire life.

Within 5min van wipers were on full.

Photos to follow but hard to log on phone for so,e reason.

Limestone rocks were a new thing but didn't get any pictures.

    Ok there we go.
    Geez not looking happy outside.

Dropped 450 Adventure in for 5k Service but it can stay there a few days.

Actually parked next to a Hi-Rider. Commando. Just was reading about them in a magazine that morning.
Only ever seen in museums i think. Very special bike.
Looks like a Healing Chopper bicycle, but even more sad.
    Apparently the Americans loved them.
But you've seen their cars so. . .

I hope everyone is OK after the wild weather. Haven't heard from the brother in law in Naenae yet, hopefully they're OK.

We planned a SI trip a few months ago and decided to go in March instead of February. Phew! Fingers crossed the weather is more settled when we leave in 3 weeks.

Our trip was lucky too. Defense brought in to help trapped drivers in Turakina Valley. Where we were week before.

Had power cut for about 30hr and now on low voltage so various things don't work, hope not broken. Fridge of most concern.
