HEADING SOUTH THE OTHER WAY Sunday 23rd

Hey anyone who's late up and still wants a ride - I'm heading off now to Autobahn Papakura for a latte (11.30 ish) and brekky, then towards Kaiaua (sp?) for fish n chips for lunch and enjoy a quiet ride......

Sunday tootle ... and your hangover is welcome....

Everything is always okay in the end.

Yeah I drooled over your black ZX-10 for a good few mins there Max (200hp u reckon now?) before 8 of us headed off north for a good blast in the sun on what has been an awesome day weather-wise!!! Thanks for organising the ride Alan.

I rode with the group to Kaukopakopa where we were prompty stopped by a police WOF/Rego checkpoint who were stopping vehicles in both directions through the main street. Sweet I thought, as I had just renewed my WOF on Friday afternoon, but the copper had trouble spotting it so I had to direct him to look *behind* the rego plate...I passed through the check but unfortunately Swanny got stopped and was still on the side of the road when I doubled back heading for home, the others were waiting around the corner for him so I trust he wasn't kept too long? I hope the remainder of the ride was enjoyable and you all returned safely home in one piece.

Been really feeling in my riding groove lately and it seems like my Bird is running the best ever...looking forward to a ride tomorrow with the Mrs on the back, weather is supposed to be another minter!!

I was there at that time, where were you dude? I doubled back to meet you cos the group didn't actually ride through that crossroad today, so I offered to go pick you up but no-one there...set me back 5mins on the group but I managed to catch them up half way along Peak Rd. Was looking forward to eyeing up your new Trumpy!

There are some group rides posted in Meeting and Events for tomorrow, two-up riders are always welcomed.

As for me, I'll probably separately take the Mrs on a leisurely cruise (100-120kmph) up SH16 out to Murawhai Beach, or maybe down Miranda/Kaiaua way...not sure yet?

    What a beauuuuutiful day!
Thanks very much Death for showing us the back road from Warkworth to just out of Kaukapakapa. Hope you guys got Draco's ride back without too much trouble, at least a flat tyre is only 'annoying'...
Hope everyone else had as much fun as me!

Ahhh, I was wondering what was going on, we were there (normal place, in that pull over area) at 11:40 and waited for a good 15 mins, wondering where people were. You passed us (Blue R1, Black R1 and myself - Black with red/black leathers) probably halfway between there and kaukop.

Saw everyone else at Mangawhai but we didnt stop, had some time restraints.

Heading south from Mangawhai I got farking stung! Pissed off bee hit my collar bone area and went rocketing up nailing my chin and then into my helmet.

Had an awesome ride apart from that.

Mr D Monkey, yes that was us you were looking at in Mangawhai, just turning round!

As I was heading back from Kaukop, turned left into Old Nth Rd from Peak Rd and then down the steep hill with the 35km corners I saw 4 sprotbikes coming up the hill and I waved to them - was that you then? Saw another coupla litre bikes going through Woodhill forest, I think 2 Repsol Blades too?

Anyway, bummer about the bee dude, glad you had a good ride, see you on the next one!
