The site mentions a subscription but I got to read the article. This time anyway. I used to buy that magazine ages ago. Dennis Jenkinson who was passenger for Eric Oliver when he won the world sidecar title in 1949 wrote there for many years.

    Even the ads were great.
For Sale: Riley Pathfinder. 100mph passion wagon. Seats six so imagine the room for two.

Wow the rumour mill is going off big time

On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

The UK Bike magazine has a Mat Oxley interview every month, otherwise Motorsport mag is the only place I've found his articles.

Just subscribed to Bike to give it another try, but postage post covid, makes it same as shop. Just sooner.

His articles are different and not as rapid/topical as on site.

If you register you get notified (teased?) Of new articles but get to read say 2 per month past the 2nd paragraph. Seems like a waste. I'd subscribe to a bike only site, or just less for only his articles.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

    They should watch MotoGP
Separately, a 24-year-old Sunbury man was arrested after allegedly speeding at 299kmh on Sunbury Road in Bulla on the night of May 15.

He's also accused of riding at 240kmh inside the Burnley Tunnel as he balanced on his back wheel and performed a mono on the night of May 10.
I find this hard to believe, he was apparently riding a BMW :P

"I didn’t expect to have this kind of situation with Maverick Viñales’ – Massimo Rivola"
    https://motorcyclesports.net/i-didnt...assimo-rivola/

Ummm, why an earth not? Mavericks performances have been consistent since he moved from Suzuki to Yamaha late 2016. Right from that point, he would "win" testing and do average to poorly in 80%+ of his races year in, year out. I well remember initially being bamboozled, but soon realized the largest impediment to MV doing well, was MV's head. I find it hard to to imagine that a motogp boss would be "surprised" when MV's pattern continues in 2024 for the 7th straight year! On his day, Maverick is amazing, and that alone is desirable and gives him worth in the paddock. Finding any rider that can reliably win a race or two during the season is not easy. But don't publicly come out and say you are surprised about the lackluster races that largely come in between those wins when he is on a 7 year trend!

As for who will Ducati hire for the 25 season? I do feel it has to be Martin. For some unfathomable reason I'm not a Martin fan, something about his personalty grates me, but I cannot deny, that as a rider, he is the complete package now. Impressive in every facet of the game. He could not possibly do any more to deserve that Ducati factory seat. On the other hand - MM has changed his tune a little from "I want a latest model bike" to "I want the latest model bike in a factory team". My understanding is that Ducati cannot supply Gresini a factory bike as Pramac has been contractually guaranteed those. Assuming Pramac do not lose their brains and go to Yamaha that is!
MM has recently publicly declared he will not go to Pramac. So my "guess" is MM is making these public announcements to put pressure on Ducati to pick him over Martin. I'm not sure this is a winning strategy - maybe some humble pie eating from MM in the near future to secure a top level Ducati for 25? Yes, he could go to KTM or Aprillia, but for several years now, these two teams seem to start the year with a bike that looks to be able to consistently win, only to be overrun by gigi's ducatis by the time the championship is 30% through the season. So if MM wants to be at the pointy end, he needs to thread a few intriguing needles to get the right bike.

It's a shame to see NZ's closest thing to a motogp rider, Aussie-ish Jack Millars further decline. The fact is (in my mind at least lol) is he never learned to manage a tire - thus would never be a championship contender. I guess he might be lucky enough to pick up a satellite ride, or possibly an ailing Japanese works bike. Either way his slide towards a Bradders-ism journeyman/tester role is the only consistent pace JM is displaying.

Honda losing repsols sponsorship after a 30 year partnership is concerning to say the least.

My main query regarding Honda - is what an earth are they persisting with test rider Bradyl when his feedback for years now has failed to produce a bike that works? I'm not for a moment placing all of Hondas failings at Bradyls feet, but his feedback and recommendations have to be one of the larger contributions to Hondas woes when the current riders are saying the bike is fundamentally flawed.

This season has been pretty awesome this year, on and off the track.

    well, that was comprehensive lol

MM seems to go back and forwards a bit - I want to be red, I want to be on a factory bike, colour irrelevant, etc.
TBh I think he is having so much fun he'd be happy on a factory bike regardless of colour.
I wonder if they can convince Martin to stay with Pramac for a another season or 2, and let MM ride out his career on a factory bike?

I'd been saving that lot up, codeword lazy lol

I think Martin would rather drink a bucket of vomit, than stay in Pramac another year. Even though the team has supported him to the point he is leading a championship by quite some margin!

They're all contracted to Ducati except MM right? He's paid directly by Gresini from what I understand, so why not put Martin in red leathers and say he's factory? They could do something similar with MM too. Thats what the guys on Crash were saying anyway.

I've had a subscription to Bike for years, it was about $10 per month but like everything, has probably gone up. It's a good read and is one of the few print mags left, so I'm happy to pay that.

Last year there was an email from Motorsport Magazine offering a website only sub for £2.50 a month. As I occasionally read F1 articles and it's less than the price of a coffee, I signed up. But I can't see it now, the cheapest option is £5 including a digital version of the mag.

when MM says Pramac is not an option is that because of a sponsorship deal he already has?

Ducati is Monster, MM is Red Bull, but he has since said that this is not a barrier, but who knows really.

Then there's Domenicali saying that marketing is part of the decision. He might be thinking of how many Ducati's they could sell in Spain with MM in red!

Yeah I always found they were a bit Charlie and Ewen for my taste, (strangely I enjoyed his books) but giving them a go now for something different, and while they are still around.
