On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!
'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

I'm not a racer, so i'd be interested in some expert opinion on how the difference in tyres will affect grip. M3/2 are using Pirelli and MGP on Michelin still. These guys suggest it might have an effect on track grip... will it? If so, much or not?

The penalties have changed too. No disqualification - 8 sec time penalty for sprints and 16 sec for full GP's.
The authorities taketh away with one hand - and smite the unwary round the lug'ole with the other.
So 26 instead of 27 psi, but for 60% of the race. I assume this is just for the slicks, not wets?
It is worth remembering that this was set by Michelin for safety reasons. I understand Michelin has a new front ready to go, but the teams have been reluctant to change because of the extensive changes required.

MM being fastest in tricky conditions on day 1 is not really what you could call a surprise. Acosta being third fastest might be. His Moto3 career kicked off with a second then three wins though so...
