Just to clarify - it was my friend who discovered her bird being eaten by my dog at her home. I put it in the freezer so she can bury it when she gets back from holiday b/c I doubt she would have had time to grieve properly before she left.

Hey Tony - no bad luck with the boyfriend thats allllll goooooood.
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.

    Animals are animals.

If you let a budgie out when there are predatory mammals in the building...yeah...you should check first.

I'm sure its in heaven with our rabbit that ran away.

I didn't laugh so much at the story, freezer bit lightened the mood for sure, but holy flaming shitballs WINJA got me again with this piece of magic...

It works on so many levels, all lower, but there's so many of them.

But yeah, I lost canary's to diarrhoea and then a vacuum cleaner, then my cat to the back wheel of the van. Death is part of things.

Good news! I must've missed that one. I was referring to the one who turned out to be .... Betrothed
My daughter telling me like it is:

That's not good, whether it's a bird or a dog, people do get attached to their animals. My brother's cat got his budgie even though it was high up in a cage hanging on a hook - the cat took a flying leap and knocked the cage down and the door came open.

Offer to buy your friend a new bird - it won't be the same but if she gets a young one she can train it. But I'd keep the dog outside in future!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

Get her a magpie, nasty little bastards can defend themselves and you can teach them to talk!
Sorry, laughed at the freezer bit too.
We all have our little obsessions...
