Some people rotate the buttons with a drill/something a bit soft to make sure they aren't binding. Brake clean in there.

didn't lift the wheel off the ground. Zero float sideways with the buttons

So I cleaned everything immaculately and spun the bobins with brake cleaner. IME neither of these exercises have ever made any difference on my Ducatis, and not with this bike either. I chamfered the leading edges of the pads as well when I fitted them but did not do the radial edges. To be fair tho, that is something you would do to discs that had a fair bit of use on them.
I also put an anti squeal compound on the backs of the pads.

Those pads have always been quiet in the R1, but it does have a cheap Chinese wave rotor. They tend to be quieter than drilled rotors.

    Frustrating.

Quite s few Trials bikes squeal. Often less as they get used. Hmm.

To be honest I would spin the wheel try and see where it makes the noise. if it hasn't got a centre stand get someones help to lever it up on the sidestand.
make up a rig and see if the disc is both round and true.
tbh in the pic it looks to be mild steel unlike the higher chromium steel the Japanese use.
could it be something like the caliper moving or part of the ABS (am assuming its ABS)
I had an early use that used to make noises out of the pressure reducer or whatever the f it was.
    Best of luck.

Right, so I replaced the original pads but chamfered the leading and radial edges, not heavily, and put some high temp grease on the loaded edge of the pad and then did a varying brake test and it seems good now. So now I have a set of ferodo sinterd pads that have done approx 25km spare as I am not going to piss about putting them back in…

Shouldn't they fit your other Ducatis ?
