Right so I have been using/testing a quadlock mounting setup for my phone on my new bike. CfMoto 450mt
Quite happy with the sleeve thing that the phone clips into and the mounting system is quite secure.
I started out with a handlebar mount with a double ram ball extension with an anti vibration attachment and a wireless charging mount on that. It was all good except for two things, the phone is a lot closer to my face than the dash which was not ideal as switching between them was not seamless compared to having it mounted above the dash where I moved it to eventually.
The second thing was the anti vibration attachment. This will turn your phone into a wildly gyrating fucken paint mixer! Whoever named this and/or tested it needs the sack. I cannot imagine a scenario where this would be useful. My poor phone had a spazzy and flicked madly from one screen page to another before going into standby (petrified) mode.
(Unless you are looking at getting a quadlock setup and are thinking of getting one. I have a secondhand one for sale, they are awesome!)
So I ended up with a small bar base, then the wireless/waterproof charger base attached and mounted on the bar above the dash display. Now it hardly vibrates, charges well and seems very secure. I know some people attach a lanyard as if the phone does happen to break free….well you know…
