problem with akitio is that its a SURF spot... (and a fishing spot for any one that cares...) last time i was there is was a gravel road to get to the beach but...

ain't riding somewhere there might be surf and have no board... at least hamitangi is safe in that regard. crapolla surf but legendary for its saturday night bonfire antics and driving on the beach...

Is this as opposed to shorter gravel?

I think you mean "No Longer gravel".
Yes, the road is seal all the way there, apart from the road works last year, but it was all well signed.

Why do they call is road works, when it apparently doesn't?

Well spotted. (Have used the flash **Edit** function to correct).

So, is the seal road made with seals caught at Akitio?

Did I miss something? When did you wipe out? Good it's sorted though - I'll see you up there.

Wgtn people that are keen - shall we meet at Shell Mana beforehand again? I've forgotten if we've already organised that on this thread. What's a good time?

Got the warrant and rego today so its all looking good. The guy got me to ride at 25k and break at the first yellow mark. I hit the brakes and unintentionally did a stopie. Goes without saying he passed the brakes.

See you guys at Himitangi. Hopefully I'll spot the KBers amongst the hundreds of other bikes.
